Audio Audiophile and gears

What do you guys think? TWS or neckband type? What's better for use in bed?
Since I'm switching to iphone, shall I waste a lot of money on the airpod pros?

I personally thinks neckband is better out of the 2 but both okay options. My friend wanted something for same use tried both TWS and neckband but instead went for something like this in the end

But then this isnt audophile quality in any way at all but this kind of setup is preferrable in the sense you can move around as much as you want and you theres nothing inside your ears if you do end up going to sleep etc. Not sure for music but for relaxing and audiobooks I would defo say somthing like this at night . you can DIY also something like these.

personally I was using something like this https://www.amazon.sg/Bluetooth-Headphones-TaoTronics-SoundElite-71/dp/B07W4TP3R1 because sq was pretty good with bt5 atpx hd etc and super rugged and magnets to wrap around and sound way better than airpods.

Honestly for something while sleeping you should put comfort no 1 and first decide what kind of design would make you feel most comfortable and then look for best sq in that .

Wireless audio gurus, please suggest me some budget TWS, to be used only in bed before going to sleep ( mostly audio books and some music)
Every morning I'm getting up with wires tangled around neck. Don't want to get accidentally strangulated.
Don't want to spend much ( around 100 EUR would be great), even half decent sound quality will do but the battery should last for 3-4 hours
The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ should suffice. Gives in around 8-9 hours of battery on a single charge (quoted 11 hours).

Avoid the Apple TWS range. They have crappy battery life. If you absolutely want an Apple wireless headphone, splurge on the Air Pods Max.

The biggest advantage of using TWS over neckbands is that - you can use TWS in either of your ear in mono - especially for audiobooks/Youtube and sleep by laying on your other ear (if you're a sideways-sleeper).

How about a bluetooth cable for your IEMs instead, if the IEMs come with removable cables. For ex, I use the KZ bluetooth cable with my CCA IEMs.

Well there are some exceptions like ThieAudio, MoonDrop, Fearless (boutique companies) and few Dunu models that have proved their metal but I am talking about general trend here and especially sub 100bracket.For100bracket.For200 I think JVC FDX1 available on Drop is hard to beat and I advice everyone to save up instead of staying in the $100 range forever.
how much better and in what regards is JVC one better than something like IE40?

Some first impressions of Andromeda 2020 :

First of all, to know what is soundstage one has to hear this IEM. These sound so huge it feels I am listening to large headphones, almost stadium like. Treble sounds very smooth and inoffensive and thus we can listen it for hours without any fatigue. Mids are not recessed nor exaggerated. Now comes the Bass which is the most impressive feat of these IEMs, makes them sound full and one does not feel that anything is missing in music at all. It's very enveloping sound all together with lows taking little priority overall but does not sound boomy because of huge soundstage. Finally the details, really outstanding and a feat in itself with such a warm and relaxing signature.

2+ years ago I purchased an Audio Technica AX1iS after hearing the sound quality of my friend's ATH MX50x. It's cheap and sounds better than whatever pairs of earphones/headphones I had before or compared with in the same price range. My question is, should I even upgrade if I'm satisfied with its quality or am I missing out on something better?

Also adding to the fact that it does not have the unnecessary bass boost by some other brands in the same price range and tries to provide a more flat tone.

Anyone here who has listened to Hifiman Deva? They were selling for 15k on Amazon yesterday and should be available again for same price in the future. I think they are supposed to be better than the HE-400i.

Only you can answer that question, you have not even mentioned your use case and neither any potential budget. If used for gaming then opt for open back headphone instead.

You can refer Crinacle Rankings, short answer NO.

I listen music and watch anime on a bi-weekly basis but will be heavily gaming starting next month. Not of particular importance but will dive deeper into learning video editing at home as I don't get much time at the office setup.
Any particular reason for open back headphones for gaming? I'll mostly play indie and solo games with occassional csgo with the bois. Immersive sound would be great. I don't need headphones that are only good to hear the footsteps when playing CSGO.
My potential budget would be for beginner headphones around 5k to start off the journey. Hope it's not too low.

Umm, okay. Maybe M40X, I used to play BattleField 3/4 and GTA 5 on my AD300 many years back and they were great for that purpose but won't provide the bass you are looking for. Personally will never use close back for any kind of gaming as gaming sessions are long and close back will our ears sweat as hell especially in Indian summers. Comfort is very important factor for gaming imo.

I forget that I live at a really humid area with just fans. ATH M40X seems nice but now that you mention the comfort aspect, are there any good open backs at that price range as I legit know what you are talking about when using closed back on summers.

HD560S but it will be way out of your budget, honestly getting a good close back is way easier than getting a good open back when on budget.

That's definitely way out of my budget. I'll keep a lookout for good deals on ATH M40x.

Found on reddit. Was very surprising too see how large of a market there is for airpods. I wouldn't have even though it was over a a couple billion at most - (Bear in mind that these numbers may be flawed (Apple does not release its breakup) and likely are but still provide a decent estimation - The revenue numbers for airpods may be a lot lower but they will probably still remain at the same position on the chart )

Are people now thinking airpods are audiophile level earbuds [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]? Isn't this a thread for audiophile gear?
