Apple TV 4K experience?

FWIW, thats true even for the older gen 4K and even the HD ..App switching is also fast .. In the sense that if you have X open on prime and you open Y on netflix.
Switching back to prime will bring you to the state you left X in (e.g. paused - rather than taking you back to the Prime home screen)
But it better do that at 3X the cost!:p

BTW that 2 sec resume would be from sleep

Same thing is there in JioTV STB. It's bring you back to the last running content and not at the app home during switching. App loading is faster than my fire tv stick lite.

JioTV STB wake time from sleep is 2 seconds as well.

See i agree, new one is faster, no doubt about it. My question was whether 2 second is from the moment power on or resume from sleep. He said, its from power ON(and you also first said, its same in 4th gen, then later added its from resume :D ). In fact firstick 4K also instant resume AFAIK.

Everyone knows ATV is faster and gives best user experience.

Can't blame anyone, I mean only when you asked this question I realized there is no option to power off apple tv/mi box.

Btw if at all possible, can you check the time the new 4k takes? Just curious to know if new soc brings boot benefits.
 
My TV takes longer to switch on than the ATV, by the time it switches on, the home screen is already on display. So I removed the power cable from ATV and pushed that back in after the TV was fully on. It took around 10 seconds to come up.

PS: I usually do not switch off my TV or other devices from mains.

I did check, it took 15 seconds for me.. thats why i wondered how come this 2 seconds, wondered whether my unit is faulty.. But then after knowing that 4th gen took ~20 seconds, there is no way 5th gen can take 2 seconds, afterall A12 is at least two years old :D

Ah yes, now I realise why I never noticed the first boot time inspite of powering on from mains once every day.

Ah that means a 20% reduction in boot time, not bad.
 
BTW totally dig the live cityscape screensavers. It's like watching episodes of "world from above". Who would have thought sitting and staring at a screensaver could be so soothing. Well somebody did.
 
Hello experienced members of ATV and the other two streaming box (FTV4K and MiBox 4K) -

Query as follows ; (This is very noticeable in Netflix App, not sure for Disney+ HT and Prime)

Once connected to any kind of Bluetooth Audio Device Netflix App Downgrade all 4K/4K HDR shows to HD version only in Mi 4K Box as well as FireTV 4K, Is this the same thing with ATV too?

Can anybody check and answer?

PS; If need to know BT device are Mi Airdots | One Plus Neck Band | Fiio BTR 3 & 5 | Fiio Q5s | Topping DX3 Pro

In our primary TV, the TV and fire stick power plug is connected to a power strip so we just turn off one single switch on wall and everything is shut off. So to answer your question, yes streaming devices and TVs are turned off at night completely.

Leave everything in standby - unless you are in an area prone to power fluctuations / surges/ cuts

In general, you will get better longevity with electronics by leaving things in standby

We started doing this for ACs after our local friendly electrician told but growing up, I was always told to shut down everything. I am still confused how shutting off stuff like TV fully vs keeping on standby makes difference.
The amazon fire tv edition tvs I have at home are basically just shutting off screen I feel when I put them on standby as from standby when I press power, screen comes up instantly.

The device on sleep should stop sending signals altogether and your TV should behave as if the device is disconnected. What you are describing is standby like on laptop when only screen is off.
