Audio Audiophile and gears

In the world of headphones and IEMs, anything from any brand can fail. But if they don't fail within a week, and no accident happens, the item is likely to survive at least a year ( except non detachable cabled ones)

For inexpensive IEMs like Blon, T2 etc. I will take the risk of no warranty ( 7 days warranty/ DOA warranty)
But for expensive stuff, will think... specially with hifiman...I will register the headphones immediately to even get the additional 3 months warranty ( In EU it's mandatory to provide 2 years warranty for any electronic products, and the process for application is very simple and works nicely, even for products from China / US with one year warranty)
Chinese companies like Hifiman are far better than US companies like Audeze and VModa.
I fought with both of these companies over phone multiple times, threatened them and eventually got partial refund from both.
Hifiman, though had their QC issues for years, was very professional with me, I was probably the only one from Czech Republic who was buying stuff ( and returning for repair) from them directly for years. Unlike Audeze/ VModa, they always provided me with a local address where I could drop the product for repair and the kept on giving 10-20% discount coupons for their next product for year after year
But when it comes to warranty, Sennheiser is the best by far ( but you must have a physical copy as proof of purchase, without it, they won't touch your product)
But they will do everything else to help you as quickly as possible. And most of the time they will replace your product with a new sealed box.
They don't do serial based warranty check up as their is frightening number of fake Sennheiser products with copied serial numbers from retail box ( please be careful with Sennheiser's IEMs)
Beyer is also great with warranty.
Other than hifiman/ Sennheiser/ Beyer I'm perfectly happy to take a chance with inexpensive IEMs or headphones.
Amp's warranty is very tricky...but that's for another day. If you have SMSL/ THX amps, read their warranty policy very carefully.
@quaratineinthesejeans can suggest you something better in chi-fi iems, also consider Sennheiser ie40 along with chifi.

Sennheiser PXC 550-II Wireless is selling for Rs. 15750 including SBI card discount.

Sorry mate, I am not very up-to-date with IEMs and stopped buying expensive in ears. Found the wonderful Etys after coming back from India, and using them after a long long time.
After the disappointment with the older Andromeda, sort of gave up on them. It's probably my ears..don't like the smooth treble of Andromeda, it makes bad recordings sound decent.

The Hifiman HE400SE being sold now at 10.9k

Is anyone here using it? How does it sound and also against the DEVA how well does it compare?

Don't expect anything before 2022 as it contains AKM's flagship.

But all are pre order ( with a waiting period of 4 weeks)
Once they are in stock, they will increase the price. Happens all the time with Chinese imports.

Does that mean that Planars in general almost sound the same? I've never tried a Planar, ever and don't know how they actually differ from headphones like say the 598 or 599 or M50.
No, Planers are different from your regular headphones.
Within this price range 400Se Deva 400i all 've similar sound signature, there's a subtle difference which can be noticed if all of them are auditioned together.
Deva is slightly on warmer side as claimed by many, our audiophile friend will provide a better insight for detailed sound signature.

@quaratineinthesejeans : How different do the Hifiman HE400SE sound vis-a-vis the Hifiman DEVA?
As Nitendra said, they all sound very similar. Deva has a touch more midbass and warmer sounding. The mids in these headphones are not as forward as in Sennheiser HD598/ 599 though specially the male vocals.
I would have bought the cheapest one available among the 400i/ SE/ Deva ( as I have tried them all)

So someone recommended these and also read fairly good stuff for this so cheap -

Placed an order. Lets see.
Initial impressions are that the bass is on the higher side. Not overpowering but some degree less would have been better. Otherwise these sound pretty clean and balanced through the LG G8x with Quad DAC enabled. Soundstage is average. The good thing is that these are pretty small and light and with the small tips you do not even realize that they are there. So pretty good as sleep earphones. Cheap build but for 300 bucks no regrets whatsoever.

I don't have them though so will defer to others

I have read good things about these and they are pretty darn famous. Haven't used them personally so will leave the reviewing to someone here who has used them.

Oh yes!! Had them for years back in India. Very good for the price ( but definitely not neutral) at that time.
But did you consider KPH 30i? Specially with larger foam pads ( I do have them somewhere..Zeos sent 2 pairs of those large pads) they sound really good. I think 30is are cheaper too.
Porta Pros are almost 4K INR at HPZ...would never buy them at that price in 2021. Add 2k to that you can get Sony's 7506. Add 2k more, you're in the hd25 territory ( a headphone that used to sell for 18-19k couple of years ago and belongs to a completely different league...entry fi to real hi fi)

I was actually going to go for kph30i but they are not available anywhere. Porta pros are also going for an upcharge of 42% over amazon us on hpz.

^^ What's your budget boss? What kind of headphones and sign signature are you looking for?
I've heard good things about OneOdio headphones from seasoned audiophiles in India. But couldn't find them here. If you want/ need semi open back type, there is Samson SR850 ( heard them, very decent for price, but somewhat bright and bass light...but don't pay more than 3K INR for them..just wait out for prices to come down and they will for sure)

If you have a budget of 5k, save up a little more and go straight up for HD25. Real hi-fi sound was never so accessible. They are fantastic for modern music and metal. The wild highs will tame down gradually.

I have already got ath m50x and blon 03 so was looking to fill the space between them.
Headphone type: open back and lightweight
Signature: neutral with little bass.
Budget: ideally upto 4k, 7.5k if the deal is really good.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't read your full message, was writing my reply lol.

How different will their signature be from ath m50x and are they lighter and more comfortable than ath m50x as I love m50x but can't wear them for too long aa my ears start to hurt.
