D5100 shares the same sensor as the D7000 so image quality wise both are the same. For me, D7000 has one of best sensors put in a DX cameras to date. But since the D5100 doesn't have an autofocus motor hence it cant autofocus older lenses. (most of the those old lenses have newer variants with...
If you want a camera setup specifically for low light video shoots, I would suggest a used (if your budget doesn't allow) 600D with a prime lens. However the cheap Canon 50mm 1.8 is quite noisy and you will get the *whirr click click* sometimes while recording as the camera shifts focus. If you...
D3300 is a good decision for starters and would be ample for years to come as you mature in photography. The Nikkor 55-200 is a decent lens for the price if you aren't willing to stretch your budget at all. However for forest reserves and wildlife in general you should be looking at the 300mm...
You can go for Xolo Play Tab 7.0. I recently bought it as a gift for a kid for 6k. Build quality is good and gaming performance is top for a tablet of this price. Heats up after sometime but it's well within tolerable limits.
Please note that the OS is Android 4.1 with no plans of an update from...

If I may, you can also go for the Nikon D7100 + Sigma's 24-105 F4 DG OS combo if "FX" isnt a priority. The latter is as good as the Canon L series kit lens often surpassing it in sharpeness wide open.
I upgraded from a D5000 with 18-55 to a D7100 with 18-105. And I have extensively used the D7000 with both the lenses. There is no possible scenario where I would prefer the 18-55 over the 18-105. The only plus with the former is the fact that it can focus a bit closer distance compared to the...
Dont switch to Semi Synth or Fully Synth till 4-5k kms. Use mineral oils only since they are better for the engine during the break in period. 300V is a FS oil. Use Shell AX5 but change it at every 1k kms :)
For beginner use, the A58 is good and since it has inbuilt stabilization it will be good for portraiture with prime lenses. The kit with 18-135 and an additional 50mm will be enough for all your needs currently.
Which Nikon camera did you try,by the way?
