CPU/Mobo [DISCUSSION] AMD 4700S Desktop Kit

yes i change it for the hyper 212x cooler.. im waiting the laser cutter adapter :D
temps now in 60°
playing god of war all high with fsr (xt 5500 8gb)
60-fps :D
temps go to 85-90
20° in me room

help.. i update to C0A but temperature in iddle is 98°C..... its a lot!!!
check if all 4 screws are tight. They were loose out of the box for me. if it came loose for you, it might be the root cause for bad temperatures

Broo you can make me a 3d printer version for me? :[
I dont have a 3d printer or know how to use software for it. I've already made an acrylic mount for it in previous pages and that itself had a lot of flex. 3d printed bracket will never work.

We need a bios update with overclock and volts settings..

Nice, that 3D printed bracket turned out a lot better than I thought it would! Is that 100% infill? Did you try stressing it?

I wouldn't be using the original mounting screw/bolts/nuts — I''m planning on something like this:

If there's still space between the bottom of the cooler and the processor, it'll have to be filled in with a copper shim.

It may be easier to remove those screws or use a different cooler than to make a custom bracket specific to that cooler.

EDIT:

So I've discovered the mounting holes almost line up (within 1mm) with the AM3/AM4 bracket comes with the Deepcool GAMMAX 400 cooler:

This opens up the possibility of using these brackets to hold down coolers that come with a square rotatable bracket, like Deepcool's AK400 (pictured here screwed into the black backplate):

Of course this means you'll need the mounting hardware for a cooler you wouldn't be using, so this solution is not universal — but that GAMMAX 400 can still be used with Intel processors so it's not a complete loss.

But then again, if you're able to get @SunnyBoi's custom bracket made/cut then the AK400 above would work nicely.
Bro i have a hyper 212x with the same brackets!

Will work?

Anyone still looking to get one of these kits.

What will be a cheap gpu to pair with it? I had chances to buy in PrimeABGB but never really found value in it. Still not sure. Lack of m.2, bluetooth/wifi, need for psu, gddr6 ram makes asus mini pc or intel nuc a better choice.

This is what AMD recommends.

Back then, it was a very good option for computational intensive tasks. These days you can get a Ryzen 4500 + board + ram for a little bit more.

I have mine with a Nvidia G210 — the GT710 wouldn't work, I tried a few different ones.

At this point, it's a part of computing history more than anything else.

You need a card with UEFI support for it to work out of the box with 4700S. I've modified the VBIOS on my HD6870 and R9 270X to include UEFI using the tool GOPupd, it worked flawlessly on the 4700S as I've shown few pages back. You can do the same for basically any card made after 2011-2012 and make it work with the 4700S.

I had a feeling it had to do something with UEFI, thanks for the confirmation.

Looks like VBIOS modding is my next new adventure!
