I almost thought SA would choke today but they won and WI are eliminated.
I had already predicted this right here:
For as long as I remember, SA have looked invincible in World Cups barring the Knock Out games. KO is where they are known to lose. This WC is an anomaly tho. They don't look dominant by any means. All their wins have been on very thin margins where the game could've gone either way. Somehow, they have managed to hold on to their nerves, something they have repeatedly failed to do in all previous WCs.
India vs Australia this evening!
That Mitchell Marsh post match interview was fun. "Come on, Bangladesh!" XD

@Black_Hawk If Cricket had Oscars, Naib and Rizwan would always be in the top two. Tbh I don't think this was unfair. Afg deserved to get to bowl their quota and rain had no right to get in their way. Ban went on to lose so it'd be mighty unfair if that one ball had somehow made Ban the winners.

Naib had the quickest hamstring injury recovery... he now holds the record! Even before Rashid Khan bowled his delivery Naib went down holding his knee...what a performance :p

Great win for AFG... Aussies have been knocked out, who would have thought this might happen at the start of the WC!!

Aussies deserve this. They were over confident and arrogant personified.
It may not be a thing to brag about but that confidence and a hint of arrogance have made them who they are. They have a winning culture ingrained in them and their trophy cabinet speaks volumes about it. Even their women's team is equally dominant in their games. The more you press them, the better they fight.

I think we should learn from them instead of being critics. We can filter out the good stuff from the bad and learn the art of coming clutch under pressure.

What a sensational victory that was! Hopefully Virat hits at least a 50 in the final. A forgettable WC for him to say the least, so far.

India 49/3 in 7 overs. Way to ruin a good start. Looks like another loss at a WC Final.
First of all I will call out Axar for being so careless. He had settled down well and was hitting beautifully. He had all the time in the world to get back to the crease but he was for some reason staring at Kock and moving slowly. Surely that was a needless waste of wicket.

220 was on the cards. Rohit threw his wicket away. Unnecessary shot. Pant getting out to a full toss. His wicket was like a carbon copy of Butler's wicket from the semi final. Surya.. Well..

190 was probably how much we should've scored. Virat played way way too slow. 50 off 48 is what he had.. Had he paced it a little better, we'd have surely crossed 190.

I was ready to lose. Both our T20 WC Final wins have been miracles. How does a team lose from 30 out 30! And how does that get down to 20 off 12, the exact same score Pakistan needed in the 2007 final?! In that game, Harbhajan had taken the beating the exact same way as Axar, around the same time in the game. So many coincidences!
I second this its just miracle I was about to go to sleep but waited

Imo, if it were any other top team aside from SA, we were surely losing that game. Taking nothing away from the brilliance of the Indian team but you back yourself to chase down 27 off 28 almost 9.9 out of 10 times when it's not the abysmal NY pitch. It was a tactical blunder to give Axar that over knowing the class of Klassen and being well aware that the pitch had nothing for the spinners. Hardik had a over left from his quota at the end which could've surely been used in place of Axar. The win could've been more dominant, like how Eng had absolutely thrashed us in the 2022 semis. In fact, defeating SA after allowing them to get that close ended up making SA feel even more terrible about the loss. They would probably be a little less hurt without that 16th over score-balls levelling. Anyways, here is one pic that won us the WC:
