Surf excel matic liquid has similar recommendation on the packet.60ml for normal loads ?!?
LG Front load are good. Bosch, Samsung have high repair costs. What's the general consensus these days when it comes to WM brands ?
My IFB senator needs to be replaced ASAP, looking for 8KG front load options. Which is a hassle free reliable alternative these days ?
The bottle has two caps. The outer 'scrubber' cap is 60ml filled to the top.Surf excel matic liquid has similar recommendation on the packet.

Why not? A bearings fix with new drum (if needed) will run you little over 5k. A new machine will be closer to 40kClose to 15 years, the body is rusting and the bearings need to be replaced. It sounds like a techno rave when the machine is running, I can't even keep the bathroom door open when it's running lol because of the racket it makes. It's not worth repairing anymore hence looking for a replacement.

If the machine is otherwise working stick with it. Get the tub cleaned though when they fix it. Tub should not be damaged. No water leaking from it.
Should you go down this route take photos of the disassembled insides and post in the maintenance thread.
Old machines had buttons. These new models all come with touch screens which are less durable
I was curious by what you meant by hassle free. So can you mention what other work you've done on the machine.I've already received an estimate of 13k for the work. The PCB on this one has already been replaced twice so I see no point in spending any further and wish to procure a new one instead.

Sounds like they are replacing the tub as well. So brand new spanking clean tub. Also new drum along with bearings. It's a quicker repair too if the drum assembly is changed but twice as expensive.I've already received an estimate of 13k for the work.
No way to avoid touchscreens with any brand these days. Expect to replace them every 5 years if you live in a humid areaI'm not looking for something with fancy wash cycles and yes I find all the AI jargon and touchscreen controls a bit excessive that will cost more to fix in the long run.
Really good service and what I would expect but I find people having major issues in half the time on average than what you got. Nothing to do with brand everything to do with user care or lack thereof. The WM gets used 3-4 times a week.

Since you had a belt driven one that means larger drum size. The LG's are a little smaller due to direct drive. This is something you need to check for yourself in a shop and see whether you can handle the slightly smaller size drum or not. If you can then LG is worth considering otherwise there are othersTrust me the WM is junk, looking for a new one only atm.

Picked up this Samsung 9KG Front Load for 32k from the Samsung Showroom, was expensive by 8k in other stores as well as FK/Amazon.

What happened to it?My Bosch front loader died after 9 years.
Just remember drum clean with sammy means no adding anything as it drains everything out within 5 minutes.Picked up this Samsung 9KG Front Load for 32k from the Samsung Showroom, was expensive by 8k in other stores as well as FK/Amazon.

Sounds like a bearings problem. Trouble with bosch is you cant open the tub and have to get an entire drum assembly.Hi mate, the machine (Bosch WAB16060IN - 6kg) had started to rust on the outer body from early this year. Then, a noise developed when the drum entered the rinse and spin cycle post-wash. This noise funnily enough went away a couple of months back but since last 3-4 days the noise returned even though it otherwise kept functioning normally. Today however the drum is not rotating at all. When I start the wash cycle or the spin cycle there is a usual "click" sound after which the drum starts rotating but today nothing happened.
The washing machine was used twice a day, everyday. It held up nicely for the last 9 years.
No, it isn't because it only has a 44cm depth and will be too small. Look at 8kg equivalent. Can you kindly tell me if this is a good option I can look into:
LG 7 Kg (FHM1207SDM)
I need a 7kg machine. Doesn't need to have any fancy AI or wireless options. Just needs to be a workhorse with standard daily wash, quick wash (for light loads), 90 degree hygiene wash and gentle wash mode.

Sure your model has buttons and not touch controls for settings? It's this one - https://www.flipkart.com/samsung-9-...STWMNGSZBQYMXB5CD3YF89BE&marketplace=FLIPKART
Just remember don't buy anything with touch controls, knobs and buttons all the way.
Post your shortlist with links for both brands. And don't bother with 7kg LG's as the drum volume will be less. Go to a store and see for yourself. So whether LG or IFB is the main question, and which model.
