CPU/Mobo [DISCUSSION] AMD 4700S Desktop Kit

I kept the larger holes so you can reuse the screws from the orginal bracket, this way you'd still get the same clamping force. You can use a countersunk screw from under the LGA holes to secure the LGA cooler with their holes

Here's the link for the adapter with M2.5 sized hole (Its 2.6mm in diameter to make life a bit easier)

Hey, could you just tell what is the recommended thickness of that laser cut adapter?

Should I get a 3mm thick piece of metal / acrylic or maybe get like 4-6mm one?

I got mine made with 2mm stainless steel, that's what the stock heatsink has. There's a photo in a previous post in this thread.
Thank you for the answer - I also did some backtracking and found the note about 2mm too, so sorry for bothering at first place :)
Hmm... might be hard for me to find someone who could cut me off acrylic or steel… Maybe a 3d print with 100% infill will work

Funny thing that first i went here just to share my small version of 3d printed adapter for 120mm fan (with the air tunnel)

and it ended up with me finishing this bloody goldmine of a thread

Hey, small question

I do know there is this "official supported GPU" list which is full of bollocks
but I came to the weird issue and maybe anyone of you had similar problem while testing your 4700S desktop kit.

So I got 2 cards, Intel Arc A770 and GTX 1080.
Since Arc A770 is my daily card for months, I wanted to put my good old 1080 to the mix with 4700S to finish building a small PC for my fiancée.

No matter what i try i cannot get any video output while using the 1080, but i am having no problem with A770

Even my Quadro P620 have no problem getting signal out while paired with 4700S.

Just to be sure, I did test that 1080 inside my daily rig (white case on the side of the photo) and I had no issue getting video signal out even without drivers.

When i was installing the fresh system on the SSD, I had the bios on the C08 version and the boot mode was set to UEFI

I updated the bios now to C0A - not sure why but trying to flash C0A_modded just does not want to work, just shuts down - yet the issue is still there.

have anyone of you came to the similar problem with pascal or any other specific model of a GPU?

Use GOPupd and update the VBIOS of your card, it should work afterwards
Thanks for the noew - will have to check it later but from a first point of view i am scared i will **** up something haha XD

Oh well - we will see later this weekend :)

THANKS for the note!

Thank you again @SunnyBoi !!

If you guys don't mind asking just one thing.
I checked the whole topic earlier and downloaded all bios files you managed to archive, but also the C0A modded one. But it seems the file is corrupted (at least i am that unlucky). When o open the afuflash, it just tells me to "press a button to close"

Is there a chance for someone to re-upload that version? Thank you to anyone in advance.

There isnt many useful options on the unlocked BIOS so flashing it isnt useful. It did have an option to not use UEFI cards on boot, but that never worked.

GOPupd inserts the UEFI option inside the VBIOS of older cards making them work with the 4700S, this is a much better fix to the issue.

So you say just stay with official C0A and no point of doing something else?

Ok, thanks for the heads-up!

In that case, I am just waiting for the laser cut part, so I can try attaching Wraith Prism onto it :D

Ok one more silly question.
i understand that SYS_FAN header is just configured so bad that it either leave fans not spinning at all or spinning them at very small speed if using 4pin connectors right?

cuz i tried to connect 2x 80mm fans onto it and those did not worked at all - had to connect them via PST connector to the CPU_FAN header while leaving only 3pin fan for the sys_fan connector

Yes. I switched to quieter Noctua 80mm and they won't run. I enable it via speed fan.
