Which is the best (read cheapest) SBI card to avail SBI credit card offers? I mostly need it to avail SBI specific card offers on MMT and ecom platforms. They don't seem to offer any LTF cards. Based on my understanding, simplyclick seems to be the cheapest with ₹500 joining fee, which is refunded as Amazon voucher.

I think you should go with SBI cashback card, it charges 999 bucks but you will get 5% CB on online spends which no one else is providing.

SBI Cashback is excluded from all sales. You will get 5% cashback but that is all you will get. You will not be eligible for the card discounts that e-com marketplaces offer for cards.

Simplyclick 500+gst or BPCL card (I suggest going with simplyclick)

Don't get SBI cashback for site offers as it is not eligible for offers. Though, it will be useful in getting 5% cashback on the tnx.

I myself got Simplyclick just for card discounts. You get Rs 500 Amazon voucher on payment of joining fee. So you are essentially paying just the GST of Rs 90 for the first year. You need to spend 1L to get the renewal fee waived off. If you want a lower fee waiver condition, the BPCL has the renewal fee waived off for 50k annual spends.

@Afxal Do they give 500 voucher even for payment of renewal fee or is it one-time only on payment of joining fee?

I think it might be a one time thing. But hitting 1L in one year is very easy, so effectively it will be LTF with decent usage.

Yes but apart from Amazon sales, I do not see any other use of this card. At least in my case.
For me, I'll be able to use it on MMT as I travel 3-4 times a year by flight and they usually have good offers.

I'll compare the two cards and decide, thanks.

Which bank offers credit cards with most fine grained security controls ?
Looking to provide one for a young person with less experience, so don't want him to fall into unseen troubles, but learn from usage.

All banks have outdated apps but the newage fintech do provide some good apps and controls. You can try One Card which has great app.

How fine grained are you looking?

Like allow only Netflix subscription but not adult subscriptions or allow only Amazon Pay wallet recharge but not a Rummy website recharge?

Or more like, only ₹1000 in a statement cycle for online transactions, ₹10,000 for offline transactions?

HDFC, SBI, OneCard all 3 offer the latter level of control from my experience personally. As for the former, I have no idea.

The advantage/allure of OneCard is that it's metal, which might sit right with the younger generation but I don't know whether metal is available as an add on card.

Primarily usage will be in local or dmart like shops, amazon, apparels if required, payment during travel, for essentials, etc.
Will be monitored by an adult initially for quite sometime.
Maximum amount that can be done in one transaction, daily transaction limit, out of country transaction restrictions, app to monitor, if possible connected to bank account for easy management, etc. is what am looking at.
Thought of ICICI Amazon credit card initially, but let me see.

All 3 banks I mentioned allow this level of control.

I believe SBI cashback card might be a good choice, if online spends primarily, but it does have a yearly fee of ₹999+18% GST.

HDFC provides daily transaction limits, ICICI provides per transaction limits.

AFAIK, HDFC and SBI are not providing LTF cards in general, maybe through specific offers. For LTF cards, HSBC, IDFC, IndusInd are your best bets.

Check your swiggy app to see if hdfc swiggy is being offered ltf. Else try getting amazon pay but its hard to get without prior credit history. If there is no credit history, approach banks in which accounts are held.

ICICI provides per transaction limits.
Have an affinity towards ICICI due to multiple reasons, first being I got a fully operational bank account and Credit card (which I didn't use for long time!) from them, had several direct positive, very few negative experience from them. Am used to their all summed-up web interface. So, will keep this in mind.
Not into food delivery services in general, is extreme minimally used, but will be happy with grocery or fresh non-veg delivery services.
