Pls suggest BLDC Fan?

I bought an Atomberg Rensesa Smart+ fan from Amazon. After installation, the Atomberg app shows that the fan has a runtime of 257 hours even though I used it for less than an hour. Is this expected or did Amazon give me a used fan? Also, is it possible to reset the analytics?

Guys,
1. Which BLDC ceiling fan brand/models which are known to throw around the room? My last few purchases of ceiling fans were bad. I feel the air only if I stand right underneath them.
2. And, have configurable speeds. I'd like to have the first speed to set to very low. I have one Atomberg Renesa Alpha. Its first speed is still too fast.

I was looking to get one in 1400 mm size without a remote (I know these don't exist) and another in 1200 mm size with a remote.

Never go for atomberg. Their quality has degraded recently.

I bought two different models in last two years. Both of them have several problems even after two rounds of repairing/servicing. However, the ones I bought in my hometown 4 years back do not have any problem.

I had bought Superfan 5 years back and they are still working like day 1 as of today. They had great quality then, not sure about the present quality.

I have the same question as post 65. Any bldc fan offer which offers full control over speed? The 5-step remote is not going to work for me as i utilise the full range of speeds as per my needs with our conventional fans. We don't have any step regulators but only the smooth/free flow ones (i don't even know what these are actually called) but lately electric shops are having the step regulators only.

Yup. Those are called dimmer, like 6pack suggested. You can still get them. Try a different shop or get them online.

Dimmers have a tendency to reduce power factor at a really low values. That's probably why you get humming from motors. I use a dimmer with my air cooler, and it has made the cooler actually practical to use. Having said that, I'd surprised if you get humming from BLDC motors.

Talking about dimmers, I think I'll replace the step regulator with a dimmer for my already working atomberg.

As per some reviews, smart ones (the ones with app) have configurable speeds. But I'm not sure. I like my fans dumb. I already have 10+ IOT apps on my phone. One more and my phone will commit suicide.

Dang. Other brands have worse reviews compared to atomberg.

those are called dimmers and they kill the fan motor and produce humming fan in fan.
Oho thanks. We are using these dimmers for like 30 years though and never had to even service any fans. So not sure about the motor killing part, but humming maybe there cannot confirm.

Thanks. I need to check on this power factor thing as i don't know about it. I am guessing higher power factor like 1.0 is optimum right?

Yes I really would like a non smart fan. Dumb fan, yep, exactly what I'm looking for.

So a non smart, reliable bldc fan which will work with a dimmer.... Search continues...
