waiting is better... no point buying a product that is past half its product cycle... they refresh every year around same time... so 3-4 months to go..

if the video card already has a vga port and so does ur monitor.. use a vga to vga cable... n got stb use a hdmi to dvi cable... don't need any more convertors... jus two cable will suffice...

male refers to any port or connectors with pin... n female are the opposite ends... best is to fgo for a hdmi male to dvi male cable which won't need any convertors... one end on monitor and one on stb... will cost u no more than 300/-

mostly tv won't support component input... until it is there... no cable will work... proper way to go will be buy a vga to pal convertor and than have a separate audio output cable from pc,i.e., one stereo male to 2 rca cable...

which chinese one??? did u restart the pc after u plugged both the devices in the ps2 splitter wire....mostly it works... or second option which u may not like much is opt for a serial mouse... n a ps2 keyboard...

they can work... u mentioned tata sky as well as the monitor ports... what about the pc video card??? it has dvi to hdmi out??? basic hdmi to dvi cable won't set u back for more than 250 bucks.... single link or dual link won't make a difference...as hdmi only will have 19 pin connection...
