Hi friends, I'm in a huge trouble. I hav a laptop Compaq CQ45 112AU which belongs to a friend. Today it got slipped from my lap and its display has got broken. Its 14.1" WXGA LCD(1280x800) panel. I hav to change/fix it before returning it to my friend. Plz tell me hw and where it can be repaired...

did u applied too much of paste on the cpu? if yes then wipe off it and apply again a thin layer by using a soft thin polythene wrapped on ur finger tip and spread the thermal paste making a thin uniform layer. Also check the cpu heat sink is seated on cpu properly or not. And don't apply...

Dude change the psu to a good branded psu asap if u luv ur rig...otherwise ur current psu will kill ur system by providing inadequate power supply to it components....

This means that if u hav a branded pc like hp, compaq, lenovo etc then u hav to contact them instead of amd within watever warranty they hav provided. like if hp has provided 1 yr warranty on ur system then if under 1 yr something goes wrong with cpu then hp will take care of that instead of...

check the cpu heat sink and its fan...see if its properly seated and fan is spinning and also the thrmal paste is applied or not. High temps of cpu also make system shut. And chances r that ur generic frontech PSU may also hav gone bad...so check this by putting another PSU frm any friend.

IMO Don't buy any Western Digital now, bcoz they suck! Very high failure rate these days, I've lost three 320GB HDD without showing any prior symptom or S.M.A.R.T. alert. Also Seagate HDD are already unpopular since last year... Look for Hitachi or Samsung bcoz I havn't heard any complains...
