Any phone except X10. You don't want to be using Android 1.6 till Q4, do you? At that point you will get the 2.1 upgrade when the world would have shifted to Android 2.2. Don't base ur decision on what a firmware upgrade will bring in Q4!

You will have to change your product code OR wait till Nokia releases an update for your product code

How about the HTC Tattoo ? Slightly smaller screen, lower MP cam & Indian version is not 3G. But is Android v1.6 as against v1.5 on Hero. And has no lip! I know its a tough choice but do consider it.
