Being a student in the US, you should get better deals which are exclusive to students. Some Universities have special deals with certain brands. So look for deals once you get there. In case you are inclined towards MacBooks, i would suggest u wait for a while, atleast till the new MacOS Lion...

BSNL is the cheapest.. I know the 700pm days are gone.. But still its way cheaper than private looters.. Chennai Private Players are Airtel, Vodafone & Aircel, and I don't see any alliances coming soon. Even if it does it won't make a huge impact since all the private players are similarly...

Look for US.. Its way cheaper that way.. I just got the lowest XPS 15 config with i5 Sandy Bridge for 35.5k from the US which costs about 53k in india..
