Extending on the topic, do SSD make a good back up drive? I heard that they need to be conneted/powered up atleast once a few months else they will start losing data. Is this true? I am also in a similar situation as OP, considering to repurpose my old 256 GB m.2 drive as a back up drive.

If you are from Bengaluru, there is store called BSK computers. They sell refurbished Dell/HP/Lenovo desktops. They are quite professional. My friend has bought a PC from them couple of years back and it was good. I think he also lists his inventory in OLX.
