AI has finally taken over my passive income niche, all good things end.
It’s been five years, 1.1TB of memory, 128 cores — wow.
Liquidation starts with RAM, this is thread 1 of 9.
The rest will follow in the coming days.
Can you create a guide on what you did for your passive income?
Isn’t it clear?
Bought and retained dozens of RAM sticks when the prices were low. Now RAM is VERY expensive but an important commodity. So, cashing in the investment made over the years.
Most buy RAM when needed. He bought RAM whenever they were listed, often at attractive prices.
This was possible until July 2025 when the price of RAM sticks was at the BOTTOM.
Now, it has skyrocketed due to AI companies hoarding all RAM and even booking future RAM productions. This coupled with leading RAM makers announcing closure of DDR4 RAM production facilities, has given rise to a great opportunity for people who bought and stored RAM for “future projects” or reselling.
Ah I love a good conspiracy theory/drama llama!
But:
I wish I could say that’s the highest I’ve paid for a single 32GB stick, but it’s not.
That honour goes to G.Skill for 17k at an offline store.
32GB RAM purchased for Rs. 15299 in 2021.
Today, the same RAM kit costs way more.
Can I know the rough estimate time you intend to list all RAM ? Atleast the details of stock you intend to sell here.
I have a feeling you have kept the good rams for later
They will all be priced the same, so there’s that.
I have Patriot, something RGB that I can’t remember, HyperX Fury, Corsair and G.Skill. And TeamGroup, I think.
This is the RGB one:
I kind of feel bad at pricing these way lower than anyone else here, but I don’t intend to crash the market, I just think that this price is fair for fellow TE members, half of new.
I have them on OLX at 85k.
One set a day so my gallery looks organized, haha.
You’ll still get offers below the TE listed price on OLX. Someone wanted my 4TB ssd for 14k.
Lol nice hypothesis but I remember him mentioning somewhere that he rents his server. So no, it’s not clear. And, yes you are absolutely wrong.
High-level summary:
I sold bandwidth to companies that would pay for it. Except it wasn’t strictly bandwidth, it was bandwidth through proxies in other countries. I’d rent subnets and route through them with dockers I’d manage at home. Scaled up with 27k dockers and 9 internet connections.
Now, the clients of those companies just ask ChatGPT to do what they used my dockers to do themselves.
Things like, what’s trending in New York’s Chinatown? What are people posting about in Ahmedabad’s Pathar Galli? Basically marketing fluff. That was about 70%, the rest was sniping sneaker deals.
You mentioned lifetime warranty, is there any situation where warranty might not apply?
Can it be availed through the invoice?
Warranty is by serial number but yeah, I can source the original invoices for all of the ram I’m putting up for sale here.
They were bought with my relatives’ Amazon accounts.
I guess I’ll start doing that now, adding the invoices.
I might need to buy some RAM in the coming 2 months. mostly 64gb or if I can squeeze out more money 128gb
What a bad time to buy this
Shouldve sidegraded a long time ago ![]()
