It was good for me. Bought a 49 inch TV in 2016, still going flawless. Even shifted home during this time and accidentally dropped kinect over it but TV still works well. Dont know about current quality but it is a quality brand.
My parents have had a TCL TV for about 5-6 years now, never had an issue with it.
I haven’t been in India for too long but the contrast between the opinions about TCL and Hisense in NA and EU compared to India is baffling to me. People here usually blindly recommend Samsung, LG and Sony at any budget, and say to avoid TCL and Hisense and compare these to the likes of Mi and Vu which couldn’t be further from the reality. Both are very reputed brands in the budget to upper mid range prices. The devices from TCL and Hisense at these ranges are just plain better compared to the likes of Sony etc. unless you’re looking to spend a lot and want the best of the best. If you’re gonna be spending under 90K or so, you’re way better off buying a TCL than a Sony or a Samsung imho. You might need to tinker a little to get the colors in line sometimes but that’s a one time thing too.
Just keep in mind both TCL and Hisense sometimes use different model names in India compared to other regions. So sometimes the model name might be the same in India but it would be the downgraded version, so do your due research before buying of course. Just for example:
TCL QM6K in USA == TCL C6K Or Q6C in India
But Hisense U7N in USA =/= Hisense U7N in India
So just do your research before deciding. Other than that you might wanna hear from others about the after sales service of these brands in India, I don’t have any prior experience with that. I do plan on getting a TCL C72K soon tho.
thats too high a model. im looking for something with 43 inches
What’s your budget at? Unfortunately most good TVs these days start at 55”. Unless it’s a strict size requirement rather than a budget constraint, I would say try for a 55”.
Anyways, a number for your budget would help in picking out better recommendations for you.
I got a TCL 43 inch QLED on the cheap in one the sales a few years ago, as a bedroom TV. Figured I’d replace it if it died out of warranty. So far it had not given me any problems (on the display side). The software/hardware appeared to be sluggish at times, so I got a Firestick 4kmax if it threw any tantrums. So far, I didn’t have to use the fire stick. Cannot say much about the service quality as I never needed them, but they are a big company, so at least should be half decent, if not at samsung/sony level.
no space for 55. its either 43 or 50 max.
and id like to not spend more than 35k
What’s the viewing distance at the longest? Consider that and decide on the size.
I think in that budget range any of the TCL or Hisense ones will do, keeping in mind that Samsung uses Tizen OS and Lg WebOS, both of which are not android so it’d be quite a trouble setting them up for specific apps that are available only on android.
TCL P7K was pretty decent last I saw it. I would suggest try going to a store and have a look at all the different models. The LG and Samsung models are very unimpressive in this range. But judge for yourself if you can visit a store.
Other than that there’s the Xiaomi stuff, but I’m not sure about their reliability, a few years ago I believe a lot of people’s Mi TVs were dying off pretty fast.
8.5-9 feet
get the 55” model from what you like.
*since no space for 50” get a 50”
no space for a 55
