Need help in deciding between 3060(12gb) and 4060(8gb)

If your budget allows you to consider a 30k 4060, it should allow you to consider a 35k 9060 xt. Just wait and save for a few weeks. It is on average 1.53 times the performance of a 3060 with 33% more vram. You will be much better off with that.

Yes get the RX 9060 XT 16GB version which comes for 37k as starting price and goes till 41k.
Here check this:https://computechstore.in/?s=RX+9060+XT+16GB&post_type=product&dgwt_wcas=1

Ya but i have heard it gives problem with older cpu will it perform good with my ryzen 5 3400g ?

Ya buddy 9060 xt 16 gb is definetly a better choice but my budget wont allow it will go around 37k which is over 7k i am not earning money so my saving wont matter it is sponsored by my parents

I think you should upgrade to a 5600/X and an RTX 3060. 450W should be enough, what is the exact model of PSU you have and what mobo do you have?

these are the psu and mobo

I would say go for the 3060 instead of the 4060 because of mainly the VRAM, because the performance difference is small and with the lower VRAM you will have issues trying out things like Multi-Frame Generation anyway.

Upgrade your CPU and PSU first

Does not makes any sense if i upgrade my cpu and dont buy gpu so it means i again have to upgrade to a apu which is not a sensible investment so please keep your thoughts to yourself just dont write anything without thinking

Be respectful while talking. If you don’t like my comment leave it. Btw I had Ryzen 3100 4 core 8 thread CPU and with 3060ti the performance was horrible.

Good enough bro.. but for safety and better cooling, undervolt from msi afterburner app. Not by much just enough to bring down 40-50 watts, in 3060 the performance penalty is minimal when undervolted. It undervolts like magic.

Ok brother thanks for the tip

It does not make sense to get a 3060 with a 3400G, @HAWK9 has a 5600 non-X that he mentioned he was looking to sell and even if you don’t get it from him get it new shouldn’t be over 8k. A 3400G is a Zen+ CPU dawg it’s night and day difference compared to a 5600.

That’s a upgrade that he can do it later on.. only difference it will make in online multiplayer games.. otherwise story games are gpu heavy not much cpu usage.

Lies. A 3060 will always be bottlenecked by a 3400g and will produce terrible 1% lows even in single player games. Do not recommend that experience to anyone.

I have done it with 2200g and 3060 12gb.. yes it was not good enough. But it is not like anything wasn’t running.

It’s not a good experience and I recommend against it, besides you’re free to pair a 1st gen ryzen with a 5090 if that’s what your heart desires. Everything will also “run” on that setup.

I’d recommend the 12 gig, especially with newer titles and for the long run, because on observing gameplay footage of newer games you’ll realize that even at 1080p, playing low settings, with high textures looks better than high settings, with low textures. Because as budget GPU enthusiast you would want to give the game environment more detail before sacrificing more performance on stuff like lighting and shadows. and low textures even with ray traced lighting, will look blurry. very blurry, the entire game world. frame generation, ray tracing, all new features start eating even more VRAM. so its a no brainer to go for a 12 gig card with identical performance.

And furthermore, depending on the brand and model reliability of your PSU, you could buy a 4060 and undervolt it to run on a 450W PSU, in theory its possible, as 4000 series is more efficient, but its probably a fire hazard waiting to happen. buy a 600-650W PSU at least, from at least a reputed reliability on PSU tier list, and then maybe focus on the GPU upgrade, 12 gig at least, for future proofing.

Ok buddy thanks for the help will look for a good psu
