Need help in deciding between 3060(12gb) and 4060(8gb)

But brother u were recommending to buy 9060xt by saving for few weeks?

I will suggest to go for rtx5060, only 2-3 k different, but it’s far better perfomance, also people ignore how powerful 50series is over 40 series for AI. you might not need it now, but might in future…

ya but now processor issue is rising this is becoming very confusing :frowning: my cousin had paired ryzen 5 1600 with 4070 super it worked well and good dont know whether to upgrade or leave the pc as it is

Buy a 5090 and close this thread.

It did mot work well, you or he/she just never noticed how bottlenecked the gpu was.

For some reason you’re being more desperate than the OP himself. The cpu upgrade is indeed one thing he can do later himself. Its not like 60 series card will be huge bottleneck unless OP plays games like valorant or CS2 anyways. 3400g is decent enough apu. Yes its not as powerful as newer am4 CPUs but atleast OP can use the gpu hes buying with it. Maybe he can do the upgrade later, he probably will want to do it too. Who are we to decide?

But the one who is playing the game enjoying it without any problem and crashing then why is bottleneck considered unless it becomes unbeareable then it should be considered

Ya that what i am trying to say and i will upgrade by cpu after 1.5-2 years bottleneck is not that big of a issue (yes it is but not that much you start changing choices)
the main expensive component is usually gpu

Chill out brother if you are not in the mood to reply then simply dont reply no offence

Yeah also you can find good deal here for your cpu upgrade. You don’t even have to buy new. Cpu lasts very long usually

True if somehow i find a good deal after some time ofcourse i will upgrade

I don’t think you know what the word desperate means. Do you think I am a shopkeeper from Nehru Place ki OP will come to my shop and I will make profit? I never said he can’t upgrade later. He can even take the 30k and invest in a MF for a year and buy a 9060XT later too. The possibilities are endless. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

If you’re getting HALF the fps in singleplayer games than you would with a Zen3 cpu, that is a HUGE bottleneck. He said his budget is 30k, a brand new 3060 still leaves room for a CPU upgrade in his budget which is why I recommended him to use that leftover cash to buy the CPU. How do you not get that part? This is how forums work, no one is forcing him to buy anything. He can eat uranium cakes for breakfast and we wouldn’t be able to stop it. We can only strongly advise against it.

When you first made the post you did not mention you were rocking a 3400G, I recommended a 9060XT simply because it is the better value product. If anyone else would ask me to recommend a GPU around 30k without any further information, I’d advise him the exact same. I guess it’s on me that I did not read the further replies but then I changed my advice accordingly. Would you rather have me continue to give advice that would be bad in light of the new info I had?

Also no a bottleneck isn’t subjective. It simply means ki if you would’ve bought… say a 2060 6gb instead you would’ve gotten the same performance.

Do you really think that something trivial like a bottleneck isnt understood by many people on here (a tech enthusiast forum). I think OP is quite aware about it, i dont know what you are trying to prove here. You may leave the money management part to the OP himself. Also suggesting a 8gb vram card (9060xt) that costs the price of a second hand motorcycle is not the best idea. Why are you so fixated about other things when OP literally just wants to know which will be better for him a 3060 or 4060. Let him worry about the other factors.

I think you have severe issues with reading comprehension.

sure buddy, i will let you have this one!

Ya agree sometimes i also do not read all the replies(in others post) But after recieving your advice i thought i would adjust 9060xt 16 gb into my budget and will upgrade cpu later because 3060 may have 12gb but for mordern games its processor is becoming weak sometimes only vram not only plays a important role how it is utiliesd should also be considered i have watched many videos regarding it and reached to that conclusion

Man why is this question turning into a debate is this a very controversial topic

Same conclusion as most, stick with the higher VRAM card in these pricepoints.
