I have a 11.6 inch 30 pin lvds screen pulled from a HP laptop. Will post pics soon. Recently bought a gen 6 15.6 HP laptop with a broken screen. Though I could do some jugaad (tape it, etc) with my spare 11.6. Connectors were different, this is when I discovered all this.
IDK whether this is helpful or not but I came across this site yesterday. Thier website seems fine PCTechScreen .
**I have never bought anything from them but, looking at multiple reddit post seems legit. I might be wrong pls add your own research.
it actually is, problem i im not sure if the screen is functional. my laptops display was replaced was it was flickering, but thats most probably a bad ribbon an dell does not do only cable replacement, as cable is packed with the screen and the panel with webcam and other sensors.
i have 3 of these screens, 1 is out of the shell and intending to make a transparent display, other 2 are to be opened but not sure if functional. these are 1920x1080p 240hz led screens.
I’m going to order the board and cable tomorrow. Google is still showing 4000rs listings for similar boards/kits. I found this site on youtube. No prior experience.
I have found a spare 12v 4a adaptor used with old tata sky hd+ at home. Should be UL certified. Has worked for years. Don’t know if the barrel will be the same size as the board.
I want to buy speakers as well. The board has a 4 pin connector. Youtube videos stated this board has a class d 10w+10w amp and hdmi 2 is arc supported. The board requires 3a adpator, will a 4a adaptor help in in providing more power for higher wattage speakers. Also board has av in (3.5mm) don’t know if it has audio out. I want to keep this plug and play, less than 500rs, pls help here.
OP - IDK where you’ll be able to find a screen for your board for a fair amount. From my limited research, 30 pin kits are hard to find here. Sell the board and make a profit.
Note- I don’t have a specific use case for this. The screen is VA with poor viewing angles. 1350rs + ??? (speakers) does not seem much. Just I can make use of the following spare stuff I have.
Update - I ordered the board/cable on 26th and it was picked up for delivery on 30th. Give it 5-10 days. This is like aliexpress 2-3 week delivery.
I found old speakers. Pulled from vintage compaq laptop, altec lansing. Don’t know if they work. The 4 pin connector is smaller in size than on the display board. I was thinking of ordering this to connect the speakers.
I recently had replace my screen on HP-ec2075ax, the colors aren’t same anymore, even though the screen mentions it’s 144Hz and it is but the colors are a little off greenish tint a bit. If you try to color calibrate through windows it’s a night mare. And I’m ok with the color. Also, they don’t install the display properly the alignment will be a little off from OEM. I git it done for around 6300rs. The colors in BIOS are completely off. With some white/green lines. I think it’s because the display is non OEM.
Any ways, many say my problem could have been solved just by replacing the cable, but at that time I wasn’t able to find one. Plus, removing the screen from my laptop would have been a nightmare so I went to the computer market of my area.
My 12v 4a adaptor will not work. It has a completely different barrel connector. Could not test the kit yesterday.
Help me buy a 12v 3a adaptor (standard barrel) and double tape, will stick the board behind the laptop display case. I am overwhelmed with the choices available on amazon/flipkart. Want to buy quick. Everything else is ready to be plugged in.
On visual inspection my compaq speakers also look cracked. I found another set of HP beats audio speakers. They are from the same broken 11.6 inch laptop from which I pulled the screen. These look fine and I know they were working. The connector on these are also different from the display board. Will look into this later and use the philips speaker via bluetooth/aux connected to the mi box for now.
Very IMPORTANT note for anyone buying this board. You have to set the voltage jumper (12v, 5v, 3.3v) for your screen, otherwise it will fry immediately. I have set mine to 3.3v.
