I have a similar issue. A forum in which I am a moderator, is blocked by DoT through a court order during Kabali (Rajini film) release. This forum is for just discussing Tamil Films and Music, Politics etc and has nothing piracy related. Kabali producer added our site along with piracy sites and got it blocked.

The admins are in East asia and I filed a grievance with DoT on behalf of them. DoT closed the complaint saying that this done through court order and they can't do anything. We approached Kabali producer, but he is least bothered. What's the next step? None of us have the time and energy to engage a lawyer to get the ban removed. Any ideas/suggestions welcome.

Register a new domain and migrate your existing website content and users over to that one?

The admins are not too keen on that idea. This forum has been around for close to 15 years (though lot less active now) and they want to hold on to that domain name. In fact most of the users are from abroad (NRI Tamils), so it doesn't make sense to change the domain name for the problems in one country.

Get a new domain name and make a redirect on server side to the new domain. Example: from someforum.com to someforum.org. You can just add extra domain names so the website can be accessed from any domain.
