Graphic Cards 6600GT PCI-E x16 - which make to buy

xfx working fine for me too & 4 other friends of mine. 3 6600gts & 1 6800gt. no probs & if prob is there i guess u can get it replaced at bbc.

I feel u should go for the xfx brand .

1.Its as good as the best, among normally clocked 6600 GT's PCIex

2.Has 3 years warranty , in sync with another 3 years warranter , Asus . The replacements are prompt with xfx cards .

3.Has the best price tag , the pinch to the american priced 6600 GT's is lesser here ;) .

so my way wud be the xfx way . :cool2:

XFX gamer edition is one i would recommend as it has the 1.6ns RAM. Its slightly more expensive though.
And by the way Gigabyte is loud? No way. Its one of the most silent cards I have ever owned. Its as silent as my old GF3 ti 200.
I now have serious thought if the m odel that AT received was recked or something.
Its one of the most silent. All other review sites have stated that and i have one right here.
None of the 6600Gts are noisy. I mean i have seen 4 different 6600Gts and none were noisy. Not XFX, Leadtek, ASUS and EVGA( friend bought one for himself).
The reason that Gigabyte early model ran hot is that they were using the thermal pad on the core. The one i bought from ragin for my friend came with the thermal pad. I removed the thermal pad and applies AS5 and temp dipped 20C.
The one which i bought here already has some sort of silver compound. But i cleaned that too and applied AS5.

Whoever said this card is noisy has the best built into ear amplifiers :S

I would recommend Quad to go for the X800XL, prices are falling and it wouldn't be long before you can get one for 16k, which is superb...

19-20K still costly for me.

Currently my heart has come on ASUS Extreme N6600GT.
It has 1.6ns GDDR3.
Copper HeatSink for GPU & Ram.
Also love the software bundle provided with it.
Also wanted to ask will it be eas yt oremove the heatsink of this card on the GPU
and apply AS5.

http://www.samsung.com/Products/Sem.../GDDR3SDRAM/256Mbit/K4J55323QF/K4J55323QF.htm

Guy shud i go for this GPU.

offtopic : If anyone know Asus contacts for graphics cards, kindly ask for the price and availability of Asus 6200 128MB non-TC Gamers Edition PCI-E

then go for it blindly.....The difference between the top 6600GTs(Leadtek, Gigabyte, Asus) is very small.

You just have to decide on something and go for it.....

Don't bother yourself too much abt it....

As Nikhil said, I would go first for Asus, provided the price is decent follwed by Gigabyte. I am wary of Leadtek as I dont know of their support in India. Asus and Gigabyte cards wont give an issue trust me, infact I havent come across a single Asus or Gigabyte card failure in the forums I visit.

ASUS EN6600GT/TD/128 Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121178

And is it available here for approx 13K

Sorry for troubling you a lot

Ok but does look like its shown in the pic with copper Ram sinks & runs at stock
speed 500/1000.
Pic:- http://images10.newegg.com/productimage/14-121-178-01.JPG

Also all standard 6600GT clocked at 500/1000 dont have 1.6ns GDDR3 but have something like 2.0-2.2ns [Not Sure].

So doesnt matter if its not 1.6ns

Sorry Guys have to go my time limit for net access finished , plz carry on the
discussion will check the update here later on.

Thanks to all for ur time , plz keep ur views flowing.

U can call prime for Asus 6600 GT PCIex cards , am doubtful abt the extreme edition , u can speak to Kulbir , cell number 9821035100 , alternatively u can call Neoteric( they are one of the largest importers of Asus cards , check for the availability , they are the distributors and dont sell to end users ) .

The std memory speed of 6600GT is 1000(500x2).
So technically 2.0ns is what you need.
Some manufacturers go 1 step ahead and install the 1.6ns.
2.0ns also overclocks good depending on the card built quality and components used.
Mine does 1250.
1.6ns should work at 1200 and more.
And you can call Mnemonic systems about ASUS 6600GT.
Last time i checked it was running short on supply but you can ask again.

By the way TOP/TD edition is limited edition and has 1.6ns. I have very strong doubt if thats available here.
TD is notmal version and has 2.0ns memory.

BTW how can we found out, what type of RAM is used ie 1.6ns or 2ns, i've checked the box and the manual, there's no mention of that
