Airtel BB 2x night speed

I Live In Bangalore and i am having the 128 kbps connec , my speeds are doubled after 10 pm ! And no I Did'nt pay 50 bucks extra and nethier did i activated anything ! I Just want to confirm that as iam shifting to a 256 kbps connec shortly will my speed be 512 kbps after 10 ?
 
nope..... just found out... it is only for the 128kbps plan.

They dont have any such thing for 256kbps.... NO 512kbps
 
lol...really ??? i got the 256 kbps plan ...

my speed is always 576 kbps ( thats right ..not 512 ) ...dunno how !??!

but ive run loads of tests ... and the actual speed isnt much more than 256 .... plus the airtel help-line from my experience doesnt offer much help .... its quite useless..

You are talking abt connection speed.. I guess you have a dial up Airtel bb.. right??

It just says that. For me it says 10/100mbps. so, is my connection 10mbps :P ??
 
Dude, half of my friends have Airtel BB(the 256 kbps u/l plan) and they all get between 40-65KBps dload speeds at night ..

i get around 40 kbps day or night ...

it depends on where u live also i guess...i have friends who cant manage to get above 25-30 kbps...
 
I live in chennai and did apply for the double bandwidth offer. And I do get around 52kbps from 11pm to 8am. w00t! :clap: Oh yea, I am on the 256kbit unlimited plan btw. :)
 
Theres no xtra charge or anything everyone on airtel gets this double bandwith thingy free of charge. It's been there since the beginning of this year as part of airtel's new year celebrations. Just take a look at this. Sorry about the quality but it's readable.

that explains why i was told that the offer is no longer vaild :(
 
I've forwarded that scanned letter to someone I know in Airtel... let's see what comes about. I'll keep bangalore informed.
 
It could also be that only old subscribers were given this service. My advice to you is that instead of calling up your local airtel cc. U guys should contact them through their website. That will give you the most precise information. I think they started this offer in the first place because they had such a lot of spare bandwith, so no reason why everyone else shudn't get it.
