i get an email from airtel

I got a call for increasing my speeds on existing plan... they were actually selling me Swift 1099 (512kbps 24x7) against my existing Explore 1099 (384kbps day 1Mbps Night).. telling me you will get more speed with same rental...

I told them to Fu#k Off...

If 1Mbps gets cut to 512kbs, then 4Mbps will similarly be cut to 2Mbps.

In reality it might be 4Mbps-->512kbs after limit is crossed.

I'd just wait the 3 months and see what happens, too easy to make future promises.

But for ranjitpai, i wonder why its a bargain ?

If he's paying good money for a 2Mbps already, then he expects to run at that speed isn't it. Not get cut down to 512kbs after a bit otherwise it would have been better to just get a 512kbs plan.

If Airtel call's you up, there is always a catch someplace, they are calling you up because they can save themselves some money ;)

Yeah its 4MBps to 512kbps after FUP. But this works out for me as I said I don't want to download more I want to download FAST :). So this is good for me.
 
Nice for casual downloaders but this fup has increased my costs a lot, now I have to use seedboxes and I hate fup for that. what is the use of 4 mbps if the fup is present, atleast the fup should be 300 to 400 Gigs ;)

And when you get FAST you will want more :)

25GB is not much and will go by quickly.

Course then you'll be hooked on the speed and will be more open to paying for a higher FUP. Airtel wins.
 
Lets see who wins :) I have already been down that road ( wanting to download more ). But now I would rather download fast than download more. Do not have the time to really keep up with so much of data :P
 
Not having time is a fair reason that ISP's ought to up FUP's. Also who can afford to keep on buying HDD's to store all of this. But they still drag their feet on it. And the reason is to keep the price up on the lower priced plans.

yes 1299, 1699 & 2599/2999 are 100GB

1099 is 20GB, 1399 is 25GB & 1999 is 30GB

though in 1099 & 1299 10pm to 6am is 1mbps non fuped
 
Speed Test result on my new plan.



I get around 140-150 kbps download speed from ftp and from well seeded torrents :)
