guys.... these days airtel service sucks in pune.... i am privileged user of Airtel since 6 years and feel sad to change number but no choice... so decided to move to vodaphone....

anyone - hoz the service? quality? it it work to go for vodaphone...??
mods - plz move this thread to appropriate location if required...

+1 for that, as far as i know in metros it will be launched in 2 months time and some time after that in other cities. here is the link for the news article

Hang on for a few more months. Let the spectrum wars get over, even if you dont move over to 3G, you might get better service.

Till then, if you wish to use another number for emergency calling or when the airtel network is too bad, get a lifetime prepaid and use it on a dual sim phone.
 
One News channel flash news that Number Portability & Full Talk time with recharge voucher is implementing from 15th September 2008, don't remember the channel name.
 
Noticed that you're in Pune. I'm in Pune too and have been on Vodafone for around two years now. Over the past couple of months, their networks seems to be turning to shit! Lots of dropped calls, network busy, etc. I'm standing in one place, talking and all of a sudden the call drops and my cell shows me no signal and I've not even moved from where I was standing. Pretty sad shit. I'd suggest you hold on for a while.

well if u cant wait lng .... keep ur Airtel Active @ minimum rent + use a vodafone card side by side ...im using a vodafone since 5yrz..... dad is using it since when it was called Max Touch :p :p .... the reception is SUPERB ... my cousins have Aritel and NO Network in my house 4 them :S pretty sad my area being a really busy one.

well just check with Airtel guy and he said MNP wont be effective untill next year.... cant wait that long.. :S so today bye - bye to airtel....
y'day only made 13 calls (8 from home and 7 from office) and believe me - 9 got dropped.... i just hate airtel.... cant even wait for 1 day.... byeeeeeee
