anticipating to purchase one othe these for sis who is doing mba. would need for presentations and i think these would be good enough for that.

msi x series c2d based laptop was available for 24k locally, really liked how slim it was so im leaned toward x series for now.

will be buying today so suggestions most welcome :)
sorry for hijacking temporarily :P

PS: i have an option to pick one at dubai duty free shops so i dont mind getting exclusive stuff but must be under warranty in india (if not worldwide)

The Toshiba NB550D feels sturdy, looks good, it's light and it has good speed for a netbook. The HDMI port should make it appeal to users who want something small that they can plug into their TVs to watch streaming video or downloads. The NB550D feels far more sprightly than the average Atom netbook. And as more software comes along that takes use of GPU acceleration, the C-50 is going to have an increasing advantage over Atom netbooks.
The biggest disadvantage to this netbook is the battery life; 4 hours is not long enough for my tastes, but it's a question that only you can answer. Is the trade off for graphic performance worth the cut in battery life?
The question is, are the premium features enough for you to open up your wallet that little bit extra since this netbook rings up at $450? - If you don't need the graphics but like to listen to your netbook when you're on the go, this is a solid option. But if that's the only reason, then I might point out some $30 travel speakers and an average netbook that would typically run you $100 less.
If you are looking for something that is going to excel at video playback and can handle some light gaming, and you need it to be portable, then you shouldn't be looking any further.

My brother just bought the Sony Vaio (AMD Fusion) for 25K. He is finding it too slow though. I think it is because of unwanted junk installed by Sony by default. When I go home, will do a format and a re-install and report back.

I saw a friend of mine tweet about this laptop. I guess if you browse the croma like stores you might come across one.
Me also wants to buy a laptop for browsing, watching TV Shows (mostly 720P), movies sometimes. I am gonna go to check out some laptops at some stores.
Has anyone out here tested any Fusion based laptops.. do 720P video play properly on any Fusion processor based laptops or do I need to specifically look for a particular processor ?

went to HP showroom at Lamington Road to inquire abt hp pavilion dm1-3000 price
