News AMD Radeon 9000 series officially announced to go on sale in March 2025

GOOD NEWS:

JUST TALKED TO A SELLER, 9070 XT NITRO+ IS BEING PRICED AT 69.5K, THIS IS AN OC MODEL WHICH PERFORMS 10% BETTER THAN THE BASE MODEL TESTED IN HUB VIDEO. IN US THIS MODEL IS PRICED AT $730 MSRP.

ALSO 9070 NITRO+ IS PRICED AT 62K.

Note: This is without tax so if you can write off GST it will cost this much, with tax it will still cost 81k. But it is now confirmed.
Probably don't buy this model though since it has the connector issue and as per Buildzoid video you linked, sapphire hasn't done anything to solve it.
Small risk, but its there, i would prefer cheaper less oc versions with 8 pin connectors.

The 9070, while good, seems to be more of a sale enhancer/catalyst for the 9070XT.
The 9070 is a lower bin of the XT and as such its supply is limited to defective XT dies, so supply is going to be limited and AMD doesn't want you to purchase it. However, it is interesting to see that the 9070 has an Nvidia matching efficiency whereas the XT seems to be one of the worst. Seems AMD was forced to push more than they wanted to try to compete with the 5070Ti at the cost of efficiency. They would have preferred to have another product to compete with the 5070Ti, though that would be much more costlier due to the additional CUs.

Well nobody has really tried undervolting it yet maybe it shines there.

Honestly imo that was a good choice on their part, it is similar to what Nvidia has done with their entire line up but since their cards were already quite efficient it didn't really affect them as much. But if you look closely in the GN XT review they pointed out that AMD actually offers better efficiency than Nvidia while idle and in lighter workloads and capped fps gaming. So all in all efficiency is kinda of a mixed bag and also varies depending on which game or task you look at.

Does the AMD RX 9070 XT offer meaningful enhancements for AI/ML and creative tasks (e.g., video editing, 3D rendering, generative AI)?
Is there any reviews testing it with applications like DaVinci Resolve, Blender, or Adobe Suite to see noticeable improvements over previous generations, or is it primarily optimized for gaming performance?

Efficiency is something we can easily control. Just undervolt / increase clocks at same voltage. Usually we can get a decent improvement. I am running with 75% power limit and its within 3-4% vs stock on 3080 and i saw something similar on 5600xt.

Saw a video with 9070xt at stock performance at 15% lower power. Not a thorough test, but I also got around stock at 85% + uv. So gpu manufacturers might be leaving similar margins.

Its actually good to have them oc a lot, means cooling system and power electronics should be that much better, plus we will have option to use it to full with heavy games.
ofc price might also increase ?

I really would have liked to have a 9080xt at reasonable price, something that gets close enough to 4090 which is 2x 3080 ...

Productivity wise I don't think it is much better than a 7900XT, so all in all not great. It offere similar performance to the 5070 and slightly lower than the 5070Ti in Adobe tests and Davinci Resolve loves VRAM so it will probably beat the 5070 but still wouldn't be as good as a 5070Ti. In Blender Nvidia is still king and even a 4070 will beat it quite handily, that is mainly because of CUDA.
