Hi,

I am also in a similar dilemma.... I had a budget of 10K to 12K to upgrade.

I might overclock to a certain limit (not want to buy PSU to overclock).

My main usage is to work on few mem intensive soft. and some entry/mid level gaming with low resolution.I will assemble at NP, so quoting some price.

Intel Config :

Intel® DCore E5200 (2M Cache, 2.50 GHz) 3600

Samsung DVD writer 22X 1100

WD 250GB SATA 2 2325

Gigabyte GA-EG31M-S2 2500

Transcend 2 GB X 2 2000

Cabinet???? (w SMPS) 1500

AMD Config :

Athlon 64 X2 7750+ 3500

MB ????? 2500

Transcend 2 GB X 2 2000

Cabinet???? (w SMPS) 1500

Samsung DVD writer 22X 1100

WD 250GB SATA 2 2325

I am not sure MB for AMD. Any suggestion on Cabinet. PSU comes with cabinet ok for above conig. Please help.

@sudan_rulz Thanks for the Cabinet suggestion..

I have budget of of 7K for MB and Proccy. if i want to upgrade later (1-2yr)... then should i spend more now on MB or Proccy.MB with good graphic card now.. and later on purchase GPU and better Proccy.. or should I spend more on Proccy now..

Please suggest..

Q.1 Is there any evidence of the power usage by amd 7750 and e5200 compairing both of them?

Q.2 WHICH IS BETTER IN TERMS OF VFM?

Is Overclocking really eazy for a newbie?

Well even walking is tough for a kid, practice makes one perfect / You never know until you try.. But yes its pretty easy once you get terms right !

Go for Intel much lower power consumption. Anyways here is what you should get the intel config

E5200 Rs.3300

XFX 630i 3.1k

Transcend 2 GB X 2 2000

Zebronics Bijli(With SMPS) 1500

Samsung DVD writer 22X 1100

Seagate 320GB SATA 2 Rs. 2.4k

Much more efficient compared to any AMD solution right now.

Also the 630i adds an onboard 7150 which handles 2005-06 games decently and some newer games at lower resolutions and settings.

Went to NP yesterday .. bought below items :

DVD Samsung 22X RS 1040 (Cost to Cost)

HDD WD 320 GB SATA RS 2340 (Computer Empire)

2*2GB DDR2 RAM Transcend Rs 1090 each(Cost to Cost)

Intel E5200 DC 2.5 Rs 3340 (Direct Advantage,Shop no 103)

Gigabyte EG31 Rs 2390 (Direct Advantage,Shop no 103)

Zebronics Bijili w PSU Rs 1700

Had a 2 problems already...

--> Motherboard not detecting PS 2 K/B (will buy either a new USB K/B)

--> 1 More Sata power is needed (will buy power connector)

does gigabyte BIOS MB EG31 support USB K/B or HDD ?

I wass not able to find the Athlon 64 X2 7750+ at this Price range 3500 -4000.

some shops says 5K+

Plus many shops doesnot have choices in MB for Athlon

All in all does the discussion above and as per tests given above states that e5200 uses less power compared to 7750+.

But can anybody tell what this difference is in terms of money if using both the pcs 24x7 for 1 month. If in this case e5200 consumes 100 units then amd will use _______ units.......

Well I didn't wanted to start a new thread that's why I am posting my requirements here which are very similar to kapil08's. I want to upgrade within a budget of 10-12k. Required components are:
CPU, Motherboard, DVD writer, atleast 2gb RAM, 320gb HDD,Cabinet with SMPS. My primary requirements are day to day use plus the ability of onboard gfx to play HD movies. An HDMI out is a definite plus. I am not an avid gamer so I won't upgrade to dedicated gfx card and no overclocking for me as I want the system to be rock stable and reliable.
Waiting for some suggestions freinds. thanks

I think you have missed the significance of the lower power. Don't look at it as a means of controlling your electricity bill. The important thing is that lower power means lower stress on your PSU, reduced temperature within your cabby and hence expectation of longer life not just for the CPU but everything else as well.
Hope your next question is not "what is the extra life of my computer when I use intel rather than amd?"

forget E2200 , u can get E5200 at 3.4k , beats both of them .

Hey, according to this review AMD Athlon X2 7750 BE review X2 7750 BE performs neck to neck with core2duo E8200. The only disadvantage they mention is high power consumption. So will will 7750E get beaten by E5200 (which I think rated lesser than E8200).

Real question is what motherboard do you have right now.
If none, Go with E5200 eyes closed.
