did you have a pass code? if not, he can just go in settings and turn off the find my iphone thing :(

try sending him some nasty messages saying, you are going to report to police tomm morning unless he returns to any apple store by tomm morning, in that case u will pay him $100 or something like that

Taking cue from frosty's post..

I suppose you should send some messages to that number and tell him that you have reported the IMEI to AT&T and also others and they will trace him when he switches on the phone and if he wants to save his arse he better return the phone (you can offer him some money)
