Hi Guys

As we all know that Windows XP Sp3 is available.

Also many slipstreamed releases are available *ahem way*.

My only question is are you guys [XP SP2 Users] moving to XP SP3.
 
ive got my hands on the SP3 slip streamed version ..but not yet shifting to it..cause dont have any reason to shift.

maybe when my current windows installation starts acting up .and giving BSOD's ..it will be time to try SP3.

till then lets just wait for the reviews..

anyways a few online article says it doesnt give much of a performance boost..only overall protection ,and fixes to loopholes etc.

and a slightly faster boot up time :P

Me planning to move within a day or two..I will post back the results..I read somewhere that sp3 won't do much but let's see ;)
 
ya i am waiting for results/reviews to appear on the net. too many glitches with MS SPs recently :P dont want to make my PC a guinea pig!
 
slipstreamed sp3 to my xp sp2 cd and did a fresh install. Using it for 4 days now, no issues or problems till now. I didn't notice any perf imp in day to day usage also. Boot up was fast when I installed but now after installing all apps its come to same booting as in sp2. memory usage is also same as sp2.

Honestly didnt find any problems till now and all my apps are working fine without any problems :)

not into gaming so cannot comment on that..
 
Always like to keep my OS updated with hotfixes and security updates, so no reason not to use SP3. It's just a bunch of updates but in one package, right?
 
there is newly released xp with sp3 integrated on msdn, peeps who are lazy can get them from....u know where...

am on sp3 for a few days now...had wanted to do a fresh install for quite some time coz my personalized sp2 was taking me for a ride...havent noticed much diff and no problems till now...so in my opinion...if ur sp2 is going great guns...thr is not much of an incentive to update ur os rite now...u can afford to wait...
 
Waiting fore more reviews. + me plannin dual boot vista install in the next week. one OS install in a week is about the max i can take :P
 
have installed it on my notebook..

primary comp. still runs good old sp2 !

didn't notice any difference at all..

but the startup & local browsing did feel a little faster if u ask me..
 
Hey people been using the Sp3 for more than couple weeks...runs fine absolutely no probems thus far. All of you should install it.

Mine is already upgraded to SP3 for the past 5 days..! Nothing special noticeable, but no problems too..
 
by the way any idea whats the price for a windows XP home edition in delhi/NCR region ..?

Thinking of gettin a legit copy before it does a vanishing act...
 
I am still waiting for SP3 to be released officially. Will switch over to it as soon as I can. I just hope all the programs and apps work fine with it.
