Thanks for replying guys.

@Aman27deep

What ISP are you using and which city are you in?

@Spin

What ISP are you using Spin?

I have found someone at Airtel who is willing to help sort out the issue but I need more traceroutes to drive home the point that this is an Airtel specific routing issue.

Along with your traceroutes, please also mention your ISP and City.

TIA

^^Great.:) I am facing the same issue. Pings hover around 350s. Had a talk with the CC guys.They said this was a temporary issue. But that was three days ago. Still the same problem.

Me getting high pings on fragnetics recently too.

Airtel, Bangalore.

Airtel users can't play on any of Fragnetics servers for the last 3 days.

I'm getting 350 ping there (server browser).

Surprisingly my crappy Tata Indicom wimax connection restored to normal pings (which are bad enough) after a day or two of high pings. Will post a tracert as soon as I get home.

huh, this is awesome o.0, i have 2 internet connections, one is BSNL wierd one (which i use to play) and the other os a BSNL EVDO which pings constant 500+ to anything (500+ in india, 1k+ outside :/ )

Bad news for Airtel online gamers playing on Sing/Mal servers.

Just spoke to my contact at Airtel. He says theres nothing Airtel can do as the high latency issue is due to an apparent routing change by Starhub and has nothing to do with Airtel. Therefore Airtel cant "fix" anything.

So if you want to play on Sing/Mal servers, there are 3 choices -

1) Wait a while with the hope that Starhub changes its routing back to what it was (unlikely, as its been almost a week now and may well be a permanent change).

2) Contact Starhub and ask them to change it (quite pointless IMO as they cater to Singapore not Indian customers and have no reason for doing so)

3) Change your ISP

Theres no guarantee that any other ISP you choose wont face the same problem in future.

Sigh....Bye Bye BC2.:bye2:

There are umpteen number of EU based servers without ping limit. Give it a try.

I used to get pings around 170, which is quite playable for me atleast.

Time to bring back Kawabonka Ricky :)?

1x TF2 server

1x BC2 server

BC2 servers can only be hosted by select hosting companies selected by EA.

@ the airtel problem - its really frustrating - fragnetics (and RCDC) were the servers i played on regularly - but there's still UK , dubai and chinese servers where i get sub 200 ping and its playable.

Today I am getiing 350 plus Pings on all the asian servers. I am on Dataone connection in Chandigarh circle. Earlier I used to get 90-150 ping in most of the servers in Asia. Is any one getting acceptable pings anymore. What about the RCDC servers? Is it of no use to Indians anymore?

I am pretty sure that's BS. If the source (i.e. StarHub) had changed their routing, wouldn't every Indian ISP be getting bad pings?
