Realized i had not bumped this in a while. Bumping with the hope people come to a realisation and stop their mannerless OLX typical ways.
Thus he proved he isnt any "gentleman" but some mentalman! Some gentleman from Mumbai wants me to sell a RAM for ₹3700 even when I have mentioned that I don't intend to sell it for less than ₹4000.
He is insistent and told me that his friend got the same ram from Amazon for ₹3600, so I told him to buy it from Amazon itself and not to send me any further messages.
But he is still bothering me with his continuous RUDE messages. He even threatened to report my messages to admin - for selling a ram for my own determined price?
I have 'ignored' this gentleman (by pressing the tab in his profile) but I am still receiving his messages and its notification. Is there any way to totally block this gentleman?
PS - if you are reading this - I have not mentioned your name in public as I don't want to continue this discourse here. Kindly don't start your mudslinging by replying here.
Unless your offer was ridiculous, which i doubt, that was a pretty rude response.Maybe the seller had got too many lowball quotes, maybe he was in a bad frame of mind that day - but either way, it isn't fair to be rude

I recently had the worse selling experience of my life and sad to say, it was with a member of this forum. He's supposedly a brand/marketing rep for a PC brand.
So, I was selling my friend's board, case, NVME and strimer cable. a total of 30k+
To start with, this member comes with a very low offer, citing he can get the same for brand new with GST discounts+card offers, etc and that he is buying it for 'his cousin'. I relayed the info to my friend and told him seems like a low offer and he should not agree. But, considering the buyer was taking multiple items, and my friend's urgent money requirement, he agreed. The buyer said he was from Pune but has friends in Mumbai and that he himself comes to Mumbai often and will pick it up in a week or so.. I kept telling him, "WhatsApp/send me your number please, we can fix a date and time", he would come online on TE but not WhatsApp me. Then I told him, pay me 1K as a token if you are interested. After a few attempts, he paid the 1k. But still did not drop me a WhatsApp message. He kept saying he will come in 3 weeks time to Mumbai. During these 3 weeks I kept asking for him to send his number me (as his replies on TE would mostly take hours) to come to an agreement about the pickup time etc and confirming that he was actually coming, and he gave his assurance. I mentioned that in a few weeks i would would be out of town too. On the date that he said he would be coming to Mumbai "Come what may" he did not call/message. The next day he replied to me saying his meeting turned into a dinner that went post 1am. Finally, he messages me on WhatsApp making all sorts of excuses. Since it was now time for me to go on vacation, I told him, make the full payment and then collect it whenever you please. But he never did. Then suddenly he tells me he his family member has passed away. He was so apologetic during this entire time, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and bad circumstances. By now, its a month since the deal was made. So I messaged him, no reply for over 24 hours, but he's online on TE. Finally, i get a reply saying 'my cousin got and bought a dirt cheap deal on TE' and he's not gonna be buying my parts.
During this time my friend was struggling with funds and this guy pulled this and to top it all, did not have the decency to even come back to me until i asked!!
The irony of it all, is that he has liked my first post in this thread.
Agree. Here are some of the reasons for me trusting him:major red flags. I dont know how you'll belive such excuses. It should be evident by 1 - 2 conversations that its not going anywhere.
Went through this on my last classified post. and I tried to be very polite and kept on explaining and trying to make him realise. But...Realized i had not bumped this in a while. Bumping with the hope people come to a realisation and stop their mannerless OLX typical ways.

Don't worry, @logistopath has warned him. Any further misbehaviour from him, let us know.
This is why PM privileges get restricted for recruits.
Just faced the same issue. I got contacted through DM then on Whatsapp then on call with ready deal then suddenly got ghosted with no replies anywhere to my questions. I think they went ahead with another product on TE but still, I guess common decency is not so common in IRL or forums.Yeah, it costs nothing to reply or acknowledge (with a Like, if it's not a question).
Points to the manners and upbringing of people.
Never deviate away from PMs on TE for the entire duration of negotiation and deal. This way, every communication is in the same place with context.Just faced the same issue. Well, you have to share your number to finalize the deal, generally speaking. It is needed for pickup OTP etc. Anyways, I am not concerned with my number being available with someone on forum but the actual etiquette issue.Never deviate away from PMs on TE for the entire duration of negotiation and deal. I never share my personal number or agree in continuing to discuss on any other platform other than PMs on TE.
Good for you. I remember an incident once where some one puts up something for sale. Gets a buyer. Buyer claims goods were damaged or not in the state seller said.Never been conned, rarely loose out on a deal. maybe lost a few buyers with my way of dealing but thats just me![]()
I try to keep as many proofs showing the item was in perfect condition prior to shipping to avoid this issue. I too am paranoid about this which is why i do not prefer to deal on FB even with their secure 'Admin' method which is very heavily biased towards the buyer and does not cover the seller. How do you prove a product hasn't be misused by the buyer before they reported it as non-functional, doa, not in the advertised state.?Good for you. Buyer accuses fraud and threatens negative feedback. Seller caves in and gives it away.
The buyer was lying all along.
Thick skinned yeah![]()
I think a successful happy deal (for both parties) on this site really runs on two things : Trust and honestyI try to keep as many proofs showing the item was in perfect condition prior to shipping to avoid this issue.
