GTA IV (Great Graphics , and best possible gameplay)

NFS : MW (Obvious...)

COD 4 : (Again one of the best gameplay elements and nicest graphics)

Hitman : BM (Great Story and good gameplay)

POP : TT (one of the best games i've played)

UT 2004 : (more than obvious)
 
GTA ...they raise the bar of gaming everytime and i dont see the amount people waiting for their releases ..except maybe halo / metal gear
 
There are so many awesome franchise that its difficult to choose just one.

Here are my favorites. I have listed only those games which have atleast 2 sequels.

Grand theft Auto Series

Smackdown series.

Hitman series.

Call of duty series.

Tekken series.

NFS series.

Burnout series.

Fifa/pro evolution series.

etc.
 
HL series and Hitman FTW, none of the other ones have come close to time and again impressing people. Maybe throw in GTA to the bunch as well :D
