Just noted a refback to this thread below, so clicked on it out of curiosity, and found this gem of a post:

n sukh sagar mall u get sony ps2 ..my friend bought aroud a month back there..for a psp u can try it there..but getting games is pretty difficult ..why would u want to waste money atleast go for a ps2

psp site:-

PSP 411 - PlayStation Portable - Reviews, Games, Forum

errr...

the closest analogy i can think of is meesa telling someone "why do you want to waste money on a PC, go buy a toothbrush!"

^lol.

How about some FREE DEMOS now? Download the demo, save it on the stick and play it on your PSP (and its officialy supported, doesn't require homebrew!)

Credits : Gamespot forums, Ckeur

To install this put the EBOOT.PBP file in a folder. Place this folder in your PSP/GAME folder.

THE MOST COMMON QUESTION IS WHAT TO NAME THE FOLDER; THE NAME DOES NOT MATTER

I, myself, name the folder the name of the game to make removing easier in the future.

Download Demos :

Killzone Liberation

NOTE: Killzone requires the folder name UCES00279-Demo for some odd reason, its the only game that requires such.

Locoroco - Christmas demo

Ape Academy 2

Locoroco - Halloween demo

MotoGP

Bounty Hounds

Ridge Racer

World Tour Soccer 2

World Tour Soccer 2006

Good news for all brothers and sisters out there upgrading their firmwares! Exploit FOUND for 2.81-3.03 Firmware!!

PSP Hacks · Hacks, Cracks, Mods, Homebrew, Utilities · Hack Sony Play Station Portable

Say whaaat? Just when you thought the PSP scene was dying… *BANG* — in your face Sony! The Noobz have discovered a user-mode exploit in all firmware versions — up to 3.03! What does this mean? Well they’ve stated on their site that a functioning downgrader should be ready within the week. Is that the answer you’re looking for? ;)

The vulnerability is exploited by using the original unpatched version of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (GTA:LCS). Remember that — it paved the path for the great eLoader!? The later version of GTA:LCS, the one you’ll find on shelves now, unfortunately will not work.

Moving forward; here’s how it’s used:

* Extract the files from the ZIP into the /PSP/SAVEDATA folder on your memory stick.

* Start GTA:LCS

Booyah!

The Noobz also have a useful FAQ on their site:

1. Do I need GTA:LCS?

Yes, this requires an original unpatched version of GTA:LCS. Once the downgrader is released, you will only need to borrow an unpatched copy of GTA:LCS briefly to perform the downgrade.

2. It didn’t work!

Verify that you have an unpatched copy of GTA. Only GTA:LCS UMDs that contain a copy of the 2.00 system update will work.

3. It still didn’t work!

Having other GTA savegames on your memory stick can cause problems. Make a backup of your memory stick contents, reformat the memory stick, and copy only the files from the Goofy ZIP onto it. Restart the PSP and try again.

4. Do we have access to kernel mode?

It’s a bit tricky, but yes, the kernel mode hole found by Team C+D still works from the Goofy exploit. The downgrader will use this to perform its magic.

5. Should I upgrade to 3.03 in anticipation?

The downgrader will require 3.03, but you might want to wait until it comes out before upgrading, just in case!

6. Will the downgrader work on all PSPs?

That’s the plan.

7. Does this work on custom firmware?

If you’re already running a custom firmware, congratulations, you have no need for this. But the Hello World should still run if you’d like to see it in action.

Nice job guys.

@TechHead
just visited the psp-hacks site.

few queries :
i) the PSP Upgrading & Downgrading AIO should be more than enough for downgrading any version to 1.5, right?

ii) since any version can be downgraded to v1.5, buying a psp with any firmware should not be a prob?

are my assumptions correct?

OT :
Just read this in the comments for the 'Custom Firmware 3.03 OE-C Released' news article :

Dark_Alex I want a BABY from you

It troubles me why Sony haven't sued this Dark Alex guy yet, or better yet, hire him. He's single handedly managed to boost PSP piracy scene and he's going to keep doing it until Sony does something about him! :P
