sorry fot OT,whats the current price of PSP

Also,if one goes for the PSP now, what should one need to look out for (like firmware version etc.)

8.5K in Palika. Any firmware will do now. If you get a 3.03, upgrade to 3.10 and download the downgrader which d_a has put out. I have personal experience with the 2.71 version FWIW.

checked out the price today at lammy..

8.8k for the normal psp and 11.8 for the value pack version.

damn costly! and it was a firmware version 2.81 (had the last char as L on the box)...

what exactly is the difference between a 'normal' psp and the value pack? is there a premium pack as well?

The value pack is just a 50$ rip off !!!, A chance for sony to recover some of it's psp console losses, it basically a bundle of crap extras like useless earphones , a cheap soft case and a sampler disc. The only useful items in the value pack being the msproduo and the inline remote.

The sample UMD is also very important in the valuepack, becausenot until very recently have the dax firmware been able to play games without a umd inside the psp.
Even now, some games need a UMD to be present inside the psp. So, unless u want to buy a UMD for 2.5k on ur basic psp, the value pack is a decent enough deal. It available here in hyd for 10.5k

Hmm..Din no that!:S

Hmm, I checked at my local store, here's what he quoted:

1. Giga Pack (12,500) (Comes with Movie + Game + 1GB Mem + Value Pack)

2. Value Pack (10,700)

Standard ain't available with 'em, both are without warranty, talk bout rip off :\

smith...the rates u enquired....r they with or without warranty material

also i wanna kno something...

if i get a pal psp (i m guessing the one which is legally sold in india) can that be modded like normal psp's??use of same f/w and all...

and how do i identify if its us version or non us version...or jap version??

and if the psp had warranty in india...and if i were to brick it....will sony india fix it???

afaik, once you brick a device, the warranty is void. you probably won't be able to get it fixed/replaced by sony.

I'm getting a version 2.71 White PSP Core pack for 8,700 IRS - think it's a good deal?

P.s. I asked for the white, he said black or white both same price.

^^^ does it have any warranty on it man???

and yeah...its a good deal....do check the s.no. tho...make sure nothing above 2.80

No warranty, of course!

Yeah, I mentioned that the version is in fact 2.71, that's my condition for paying around 100-200 IRS extra than the regular price.

Hmm, and I figured the only reason people purchased the black one case it was the only one available for a while.

They've got pink PSP's too, but I'd leave that for the queer types, whites the way to go.

BTW, black looks kinda dull, guess it's quite repetitive when it comes to sony consoles /shrug
