Hi,

i have a pulsar 180...now I am planning to buy a new bike

pulsar 220 dts fi

yamaha fazer

karizma

Looking for one with

1)nice mileage

2)less back ache :@

3)easy handling

Expecting good suggestions

Thanks :cool2:

when it comes to comfort my pick is the ZMA. I'm totally pissed with HH for just playing around with the ZMA but trust me if i had the moolah to buy a bike today i would get the ZMA-FI hands down.

p.s. the fz16 / fazer has gr8 seating position as well ! - if u can wait and stretch longer i suggest u play the wait game for the upgraded fz16/fazer (oh yes, im playing it as well)....

edit : but since u want decent mileage then ur pick should be the fazer.

40-45 mileage is fine for or 37km/L max

is zma Fi a good option to avoid back ache?

I would like to buy a bike with less vibration

my pulsar 180 produces big vibrations when i reach 60km speed

if u are ok with that figures then the zma-fi is fine, im 0.5 inches shy of 6 feet and have a tendency of a very sensitive back on bikes. it was ok earlier but now that i'm way older than the 'teens' and the early 20's it catches up eventually.

i did a 110 km highway riding 2 weeks back on the ZMA. Got an average of 33.5km/litre. I came back home fresh as i din't even go out there. On the pulsar i usually get tired and a stretched back.

make no mistake, get the zma.

p.s fyi :P the toe shifter is a PITA. ruins the shoes and hurts the foot on shifts :@ keep an open mind towards modding it.

since R15 isn't in your list, I'll prefer ZMR... (R15 is good for comfort until you are strong enough to bare racing riding position ;) )

highly disagree , a streetfighter is anydays better than a racer and fyi....the 'less backache' clause doesnt work for the r15, r15 will also earn u wrist pain and shoulder pains with long riding....

upgraded fz/fazer ?

^^ none that I know of :P The FZ16 and fazer are both new models I wouldnt expect any change in them for atleast a couple of years.

^Thanks :P I will be booking the FZ/Fazer next week

@OP, the fazer will be lacking in performance when compared to your Pulsar 180, imo it'll be lacking on every aspect except for quality.

TD the ZMA and the Pulsar 220. btw, i don't think the Pulsar 220 comes with Fuel Injection with its new upgrade.

 Congo saar! welcome to the Yam club.. You might find it a bit underpowered compared to your old bike.

You didnt TD the new 220? Yes saar the new 220 doesnt come with FI but its 80k on road :P

i checked out the Fazer on road yest. the bike looks cool, the riding position is confortable.

infact its a touring bike, and is meant for long drives. i simply loved the bike and the twin head lamps make it very distinct.

mileage wise, my friend's FZ16 gives an average of about 42-45, so fazer should be around that number.

i'd suggest fazer. it wont burn a big hole in your pocket as by karizma ZMR.

please keep in mind that u might be disappointed with the power loss from your existing steed if u fall for the fazer and might end up repenting buying it.

same thing happened with me after getting the 150 , i wish i had bought the 180 then...

Didn't feel like picking up bajaj bike again :P, i had enough with them. As with FZ, i am counting on its weight to power ratio as against the avenger 180 i.e 152kg kerb weight vs 126 kg, hope i'll get more or less the same performance plus the better handling feature of a normal bike against a cruiser ;)

But OP will find the FZ/Fazer underpowered for sure.
