As for democracy, what we have is the choice between corrupt and more corrupt. It's never going to be good unless the system changes.

Commonwealth Games Federation president, Mike Fennell, will arrive in Delhi tomorrow and is likely to meet with the Indian prime minister for crisis talks aimed at saving the Games. Mike Hooper, CWF chief executive, said he would be seeking to draw a line under the blame game that has already begun and put pressure on the government to avoid more international embarrassment.

"There is a problem, it needs fixing. I'm not into pointing fingers. They have the next couple of days to put things right," said Hooper. He said that while venues were built to a high standard, and he had no concerns over security, the sorry state of the village was a huge worry.

The beleaguered Delhi chief minister, Sheila Dikshit, played down the problems and accused the media of damaging India's image. "Something may be dripping, some tile may collapse, doesn't mean the entire Games are bad," she told reporters.

Games a success or a failure, not a thing is going to happen. There is no sense of accountability. India. You guys should see the situation in New Delhi. It is highly pi$$ing off. Roads are a mess, nothing -- not a thing has been done. Beautification of the city is zilch. It is quite obvious where the money has gone. Man, just driving through the city makes one feel like throwing up. Roads have burst open, garbage mounds (stinking) near colony gates / on main road, water flooding, muddy pavements, just planted green shrubs. Virals/diseases like Dengue are rampant, and will peak during October. In fact it seems, that New Delhi looked much much better last year than it is this year...!

I am not a pessimist and may not be optimistic, but the attitude of the OC is purely lame and half hearted. Just see the stupid remarks they are making on the channels. It is appalling and shocking.

Re Read my post again. This time a little slowly piecing the words together so that you can make complete sense of what i am saying.
I Wrote

Then you go on to say

Finally you say

See where i am going with this :)

BAH ! - [IC] - Fate of CW 10' will be more apt , seen today's TOI ? Makes even more sense ....97% of 17k votes - think India's image has been tarnished - Mr. Lalit Banhot goes on to say that we Indian's have "different" hygiene standards when compared to "him and them (he's high)" bloody hell , when will they wake up ? - they will when all the money's gone and its time for another 70k cr. scam

I'd say - Dont put all the blame on the OC - they were only accountable for Rs1770 crore - which was under their control - to "control the infrastructure" being built- so basically 70,000 crore rupees has only 2k crore accounted for - rest Mr.Mattoo doesnt know - he says the OC takes :collective: responsibility for the failure !- wtf dude ?

Mr.Kalmadi is going to be a bloody rich man after the games - (so much for an ex-IAF pilot - Last I heard they - they walk with their heads held high - whats with this kalmadigate then ? ) :| - makes me feel sick !

- Too late sire , you should have done this 1.5 years ago - made up some special organizing committee like the 82' asiad

It's really a matter of shame that the capital city of this Great Nation has been terrorised by Dengue and Malaria.

I think it CDG- Common Disese Games.

Next time elections come, it's our duty to remember such things.

But there is not even one eligible candidate whom one should vote for, so no pointing waiting till election or anything.

As there is a saying in hindi..... sab ke sab ek hi thali ke chatte batte hai

Please enlighten me as to whom i am blaming in my post? We the Indians or Politicians.
Its very easy to give the Funda that We,Indians as a whole have failed. But then I would say that we were not responsible for electing the Members of CWG Commission or the decisions they took. Its a bunch of individuals that have shamed us all in the End.
Heck i would go one step up and say that Its the Democratic mechinism that has failed in India! Thats the real reason why we are in this Mess,Democracy, An aggregate of Ideal Priciples that have no practical value :-| .

Give everybody a chance to loot you. Then politics would become a lucrative career and situation will improve automatically.
;)
Also on a serious note those who think differently are branded as" dictators" and considered as a taboo in the political circle.
