Review Courier Service Feedback

Bad experience with Aramex. The product had to be shipped from mumbai to shimla & it was lost somewhere in between, the aramex website shows the product has been delivered. Thank god it was worth 200 bux only.

Guys I can easily say that do NOT go with DTDC. They have bungled up a shipment of FiiO E5 headphone amplifier I dispatched to joy1. I sent it on the 16th of December, and till date it hasn't been delivered. After numerous phone calls and emails from joy1 to DTDC customer care, and many personal visits from my side to the local DTDC office, they have now officially declared the consignment as "lost". They gave both of us some BS about some kind of FIR process and investigation.

Now I don't know what to do and I am running out of time as I am going out of India very very soon. How can I recover the cost of the lost shipment? Better still, how can I ensure that the shipment reaches the recipient?

DTDC for me has been pretty good.

Any feedback on TNT ? As in terms of quality of service and safe delivery (without damage or loss0 of the package ?

DTDC- Only for inexpensive big stuff! Dontt bother sending small stuff with them. Their godown is maintained very badly......i had been there
Only once my shipmment was ruined and returned.....my mistake had wrapped in light cardboard
Pack it in steelbox if nessarry!

@ Gowt1ham, Could you pls explain? Why should they not accept the package? Conversely, what would I need to do for them to accept the package? Do they provide their own packing material?

DTDC suck for me every time in last 3 yrs. Every time they charge from seller to ship at my place but they never come to my place rather prefer to call from Office & ask me to collect the shipment & again threaten that if I didn't collect within 6 hrs the shipment will send back the HO.

Last 2 time I pay them EXTRA MONEY to deliver the product to my place, each & every public or govt. transport service available to reach my place but every time DTDC just can't find the address but as soon as I agree (over phone) to pay them extra they easily reach to me in 5 minutes.

Best is TNT. Sent a package to Mysore on Saturday (PSP), reached perfect on Monday. Plus they charged me like Rs 132.

Had to ship the 2G 16GB to Bangalore and it reached the enxt day. Amount Rs 113.

No bakwas about electronics, batteries and what not. Just plain awesome service. I love these guys. Total VFM.

What a way to start a day at work! All because of First Flight courier service. I sold a processor to chetansha. He messaged me immediately after receiving the package that the processor is in bad shape. I spoke with him and he told me that the processor was loosely packed and was received with bent pins. It was shocking for me to say the least, as I'd packed it so well. I used a hard plastic cover (used for pack of cards), placed foam over it, used a cardboard to make the processor fit into the box. Placed a triple folded bubble wrap inside the box, covered it with the box cover, taped it. Then again used the bubble wrap to cover the box, before I finally put it inside the AMD box. When I took it to the courier guys, they asked me to remove the package as they wanted to have a look at what I was sending through. They said because of the Republic day thing, they have been instructed to check every parcel thoroughly. I unpacked the whole thing, showed it to them and then repacked it in exactly the same way as mentioned before. I was in that courier office for two hours. They gave me the receipt and said the package would be shipped the next day and would be received day after. This was on Sunday. I was constantly tracking the package on the website, so when on Tuesday I found out that it has still not being delivered, I called up their customer service to find out why, and they said that every package is being opened up at their head office and being checked, the delay may be due to that. From that day I was apprehensive whether the package would be received in one piece, because I was sure they wouldn't be able it to pack it the way I packed the box, and if they couldn't do it, the package would be damaged in transit. Today my fears came true. Chetan called me as I said before with the bad news. He was very helpful and understanding about the whole situation and said that he would try to straighten the pins if possible and use the processor. Since it was my obligation to ship the product to him undamaged, I told him that I would refund the money immediately. But this has left me dejected, as I was looking forward to an upgrade with the money. The thing I am angry about is that the real culprit will go scot free :@ i.e. the courier company. I only have the receipt with me, the shipping wasn't insured. I don't know what to do

PS: DON'T USE FIRST FLIGHT COURIER SERVICE. IF POSSIBLE DELAY YOUR SHIPPING UNTIL THE REPUBLIC DAY IS OVER.

@maverick
I asked the courier guys, and they said that the packages are always insured.
Even the receipt I got mentioned liabilities of upto 5k.
So if you want,u can always bug them till they pay up, at least the 5k.
btw, I couriered my RAMs last week to GSkill Taiwan.
Impressions:
Speed Post and First Flight refused to courier Electronic components
BlueDart/DHL asked for 2.8k.
TNT asked for some import/export code, which I didn't have obviously. I got the RAMs from KMD.
Finally went to DTDC, and they charged 1.4k.
A day later they came back saying that they don't deliver internationally but use other couriers like Aramex, TNT and DHL.
Since they were going to use DHL, they wanted 300 bucks more. I started arguing and finally they agreed to keep the same fees :hap2:
In effect, I used DHL couriers for half the fees

thanks to [TE], I knew enough to mark the package as Sample, in order to avoid all the tax hassles

DTDC and Professional

So far sent only 2 items to Guj (DTDC), both times the parcels reached destination safely w/o issues and qite fast(3 days). rather vice versa, from guj to mumbai using another courier (think it was professional) was a joke, recvd it after i think 7 days.

Just received a call from TNT regarding a SATA cable shipped to me the octroi charges are Rs 30 but they are asking for 100/- including their so called "Clearance Charges". TNT is pathetic and sux.
