CPU/Mobo Cpu Required(Intel Or Amd)?

Ok now i am pretty much confused.
Are us saying that opty 146 will perform better than 3500+ or 3700+ sd ?
Also 146 is based on socket 939 right?

yeah 146 is socket 939 .... it having 1MB of L2 cache and 2ghz clock speed where the 3500 is with 512MB L2 cache and 2.2ghz Clock speed ..... and 3700+ is 1 MB with 2.4Ghz clock speed so in stock speeds 3700 will be having best performance .....

performance of 146 and 3500+ will not be much different altho 3500+ will be better due to higher clock speed ...

but 146 is best VFM if u like to OC ...

U mean 512 KB L2 cache ;)
No, the 3700+ is only 2.2 Ghz but yes on stock speeds it will have the best performance. But if u wanna OC it the Opty 146 will OC the best.

hehhe Also make it clear to him that the opty 14X series are all single core ones. I myself got confused the other day thinking it as a dual core lol. AMD seriously needs to bring in a dual core proccy to beat d820's pricing. Cuz no point in showcasing Single core amd's which can beat dual core p4's cuz in india the name also sells. and Dual core is just another race.

sorry my bad  :) ....

3800+ and 3700+ have almost same performance sandy is little better sometimes ....... actually i wanted to say that but it was typo :) .....

here is a Toms CPU chart very usefull while comparing the CPU's at stock speed

How much is the price of 3700+ in mumbai...(just for the stats) :)

@Rahul..buddy,that revu at Toms is one big dinosaur..need a day off to go thru it..;)

Heres another link http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html?modelx=33&model1=206&model2=218&chart=67
On this page, u can select two CPU's u want to compare, select the benchmark and veiw the comparison. The selected CPU's are highlighted in red. Quite useful as u dont have to go through the entire article.

^^Thanks for the update on the revus, rahul & hunt3r...but any idea about the price,dears..?;)
Seriously the 3700+ is rare as a diamond right now ! Last pricing was around 18k which makes it a terrible deal when compared to Opty 165 and x2 3800+ which are priced similarly.

^^I guess the 3700+ will easily own opty 146 at stock speeds..and who knows, it may overclock just as good...;)

OMG, thats like asking for too much..a dual core 165 is a much better choice at that price point.

Well i got a quote of following from lammy:-
opty 146:- 11,800
3500+ :- 10500
Asus A8N-E:- 6150
3700+ not available

get the opty eyes closed ... :D

Ok will be going for 165 then. Will be here within a week:clap: .
Also as i am going to buy a Asus A8n-e with it.Has it got good overclocking capabilities since obviously will be overclocking the opty or shud i go for any other mobo in the range of 6k.

Also got quote of 19k for opty 165
Can anybody tell me where at lammy will i get at 18500 or below as posted here.

Also a zillion thanks to all the people out here who have helped me make this decision.:hap2:

I'd rather had opty 146 and dfi mobo anyways 165 neverthless better than 146 but get a dfi mobo.. with mobo i never compromise.
