Discussion: England v India 2011

In hindsight Raina was a bad choice over Mukund who has had atleast some starts at Lords and scored a century against the Northamptonshire team.

The last time India were demolished this way was back in '99 when Sachin led India down under, they got wiped out 3-0. The only positive was VVS Laxman's 148 in Sydney, till that day I wondered why they compare him to Azhar.

So here's India's fixtures for the remainder of this year.

From a Test Series POV - next series against the Aussies

Zaheer Khan is out for the next 14-16 weeks which means rehab period till November.

He missed out on a lot of tests as usual, RP Singh, Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan bowled during that series. 16 weeks is a long time, close to 3.5 months, I don't think Zaheer will be able to tour Australia. India should look at other options.

The batsmen scored a LOT of runs in Australia and at least they were competitive, but then it was 4 years ago.

I want India to lose.

India have lost the test series and hopefully the entire tour will be a whitewash. So that we learn some humility as a Nation. So that we realize that there are other sports that deserve as much attention. So that we realize that there are other teams who deserve the No.1 spot just as much as we do. And most importantly, so that we realize that there will never again come a better oppurtunity to introspect our greatest weaknesses.

I want India to lose.

This was utter humiliation ! India couldn't even drew this match with England after brilliant resilience shown by Tendulkar & MISHRA (Take a bow) . End Result, Lost 7 Wickets for meagre 21 Runs, and the outcome, unexplicable

I am not complaining that they lost, but the manner in which the team lost is surely questionable. This isn't what was expected by a billion people from the former No.1 Test side, especially when there were such high hopes before the start of the series.

I remember reading a statement from Darren Gough, former England fast bowler that England could anyday beat India black and blue, and i laughed like hell. But today, i really question the Indian team capabilities.

Lets see if the World Champs can save some grace in the ODI's or will it be the same story.

poof .... indian cricketers were protesting against corruption by not winning the matches ... once the lokpal bill is passed , they will then resume their winning ways !

India 9-1 already. At end of 5th over. Seems they dont want to win any match in England.

Edit: 9-2, Dravid gone. Ov:5.2

:(

Edit: 13-3, Parthiv gone. Ov: 6.4

Edit: 25-4, Kohli back to pavillion. Ov:10.2

Haha. If I had the power, would have nominated you for Khel Ratna - just for the hope / belief you have in the team :P

cant believe u people even watching it :P

get on the pc watch some movies. get on the internet.

watch the match only if u want to immerse yourself with booze for venting ur anger on the indian team. :P

It was fun watching Jadeja and Dhoni batting.

Rain stopped England play.

Scores: India 234 for 7 where - Jadeja hit 78, and Dhoni hit 69.

England - 95-3 at end of 20 overs.

This thread is really testing my patience.

Trying my level best not to abuse team India on this thread..

If it aint fat Zaheer.. we have the sloth named as Munaf.. fielding in a tank of Glue always..

I hope the people who matter treat this series as a lesson for future improvements. The way India is playing these days, even Donkeys would object them being compared with team India.

Yesterday was a perfect opportunity for Dhoni to come up the order and do what he did in the WC finals - take charge. Sadly didn't happen though it was a fine knock under the circumstances. Refreshing to see the way Jadeja batted and bowled. Hope he continues to do so.

And wtf is with the rain! :@ Everytime India try to gain the upper hand, it starts raining!! Would have loved to see Bell and Stokes last 3 more overs with the way Jadeja and Ashwin were bowling before the break.
