dish TV or TATA sky

ok.. it seems like most of u are there supporting TATA SKY...

i just wanna know the reason y u guyz dont support Dis TV.... wat r thode disadvantages...
as m gonna get a dish installed... i was researching on the matetr... found out that Dish is giving 170 channels.. while tata is giving less channels... Dish TV is giving 6 months Subscription free while TATA is giving just 3 months worth of free subs..well.. now can any one figure out the points for me now that y shud i ;ay my hands on TATA sky and not on Dish TV..

I suggest go for MTNL's IPTV if you have Mtnl broadband connection.
It will be the cheapest and the quality is also on par with cable tv,infact in some cases even better....:)
 
^^ is Quantity really there... cuz i've heard that abt 30 channels are audio( wont consume electricity listening radio on TV :O ) and half the channels are South indian( no use) please clear the doubts ... :)... ??
 
^ Dish TV used to have foreign channels too (Like MUTV, Chelsea TV, etc) do they still offer those ?
 
DishTv definately has more channels as compared to TATA...DishTV usually gets the newly launched channels much faster as compared to TATA...

2 new marathi channels Mi Marathi n 24Tas are already on DishTv but on TATA....

so if u want channels go for DishTV....and the quality diff between dish n tata wont really matter unless u have a real big tv...
 
r u really gonna watch all the 160 channels ..??

Quality-wise Tata Sky is better than DishTV..there is less lag between the channels while u r scanning(changing channels) in Tata Sky as compared to Dish..

he Western package of 250 bucks a months is juz perfect if u dont like watchin those soaps/k serials etc...:cool2:

i suggest Tata Sky as i'm using it since January 2007 & very happy with it :D
 
I have been Using Dish TV for last two years way before TATA SKy was launched.

Till date i have not encountered any problems with it.

If you dont have big screen TV the quality is not going to differ much on CRT tvs.

so go out check both groups offerrings.

Especially which channels are offered in which package and whichever you find better go for it.
 
I use both DishTV and TATAsky. Here is the common points
1. Number of channels is the stupid thing to look for. 99.999% audience watch maximum 30 channels in their entire life. (I mean watching...not browsing thru aimlessly). So I look for channels which I am interested in. Dont care whether they give 100 or 1000 channels.
2. Pricing. Both are almost the same. And Both are equal in cheating he consumers. WE are end up paying hefty amount for unwanted channels which takes 80% in the list.
3. Until unless real conditional access in place, forget about the worthiness.

Now I want to compare both service providers

1. Dish TV got some unique channels (MGM, TV5Monde-french, DW-German,TCM). I watch DishTV still because of this only. And TV5MOnde is going out withing two days because they ask 150 Rupees per month for this single channel. They three more channels left. DW is free to air. You can watch this even without DishTV form NSS6.
I am telling you my friends, there is nothing else good with DishTV. Everything else is the worst. If you dont want these channels, forget about this at any cost
2. Tatasky is better in many areas. Quality of the H/W, installation, The great customer care. If you want to know about DishTV CC, just call their number. Then u will come to know what it is.
3. There are software bugs with both of the systems. Anyway this can be fixes easily since the S/W downloads and install automatically thru the satellite itself. Hope they will fix sooner or later.
I am trying to get more infor on BSNL IPTV here in Bangalore. Want to shift to that.
 
LOL ... Phunny hmm... i've got Tata sky installed and its abt 3 months now m njoing it.. :P .. i did the recharge yesterday only ;)
 
i have faced no apparant issues with Dish TV. Plus, I can easily check the program time-table for next two days which is missing in TataSky.

What he said, but i'm going to give it at least another yr to see how it ends up. I am sick to death of my cable operator with shit service.

Sat tv is not good during rains.
