face it. DMC was a console exclusive and should stay that way.
Says who? DMC4's port on the PC has proved time and again how Capcom has pioneered in optimising, what was once a console-only game, and made it viable for PC audience to embrace it. MT Framework engine has opened a great room for advancement in terms of delivering cutting edge graphics over DX9/10/11 platform. Play DMC4 on the 360 and the PS3 and then play it on the PC with maxed out detail. Let me know if it still was meant to be a console only game.

If you think that it won't get much support just because PC is plagued with piracy issue, then you couldn't be more wrong. Every platform suffers from this problem. But where there are people pirating the game, there people who actually buy the legit copies too. You'll see a lot of developers and publishers still release their games on PC, since the platform is accessible to a much larger audience. So announcing a game for the PC doesn't really translate into a no-show. They could delay the title for PC and release it a few months later. Capcom always does that with all their PC release dates.

I'm not sure if Ninja Theory would adopt the concept of a PC port, which is another concern. Even if they did, which engine would they adopt? Optimisation and all those things are to be considered here. God! This would have been so simple, had Capcom just took more interest in developing it on their own.

Re: Devil May Cry Preview Images at TGS 2010! (Look and Weep)

Allwyn relax man, he's just a kid. :P

In any case, I have got myself a copy of Lost Planet 2 for the PS3. We'll see how well the game fairs on the console and is optimised with Capcom's new MT FW 2.0 engine. When I had a 8800GTX back then, LP 1 raped the system and brought it to its knees. :ashamed:

Re: Devil May Cry Preview Images at TGS 2010! (Look and Weep)

dmc reboot's engine looks quite similar to diesel engine. no not the literal one.:-[
the engine used in bionic commando.if you see the screenshots closely the lightning and environment effects looks strikingly similar to it.if they are using anything similar to that engine and if they port it to the pc then there might be a chance that it will be optimized well.

Now that it has already ported to the PC, you cannot rephrase whatever you have posted either.
not trying to rephrase anything

just saying that it is more console associated game

Re: Devil May Cry Preview Images at TGS 2010! (Look and Weep)

Oh my god....

DMC4, was a decent game, I preferred DMC3 though, just because you could play as Vergil.

I could jump cancel too! His Judgement cut is still the coolest move I have ever seen.

Boss fights were engrossing and Jester was just amazing. DMC4 lacked that kind of depth but made up with its visuals and an on the fly weapon switching system.

Any of you people ever modded DMC3 or DMC4 for that matter?

Its wicked fun I tell you.

Ninja Theory explains the drastic changes to Dante.

WTF!

Re: Devil May Cry Preview Images at TGS 2010! (Look and Weep)

Just didn't liked dmc 4 as the savepoints were awful.

Re: Devil May Cry Preview Images at TGS 2010! (Look and Weep)

LOL! Thats a sign of n00bness man. I'm not offending ya but seriously this IMO was implemented to enhance difficulty. But is does not under any circumstance lower the game.

Depends on how those new gamers are accustomed to hack-en-slash titles. I started out with Devil May Cry 4 & that was the game which pulled me into the franchise. The save part was a bit frustrating in the beginning, but you get used to it once you learn the game mechanics. The thing which separates this game from other hack-en-slash titles is it's unquie way of ramping up combos and then being rewarded with a certain amount of red orbs. Most of the hack-en-slash games usually have a reserved number of orbs which you gain from enemies regardless of how your kill them. But in DMC games, it depends on how you ramp up your style meter and gain orbs based on the final kill.

As a newbie, everyone would just want to hack their way through the game, but that's not how it's meant to be played. Being creative with combos is the key out here. You have an end number of things to explore, upgrade and experiment with in this game. If you aren't a hack-en-slash fan, then it won't be of much use to you. But if you really like to go deep into this game and understand the game mechanics, then you'll really enjoy the game.

Re: Devil May Cry Preview Images at TGS 2010! (Look and Weep)

I had played the game till Chapter 5 but really lost interest in the game since the game doesn't pulls me you into the game as i was doing the same thing again , i know Chapter 5 won't be a proper representation of the game but if a game can't pull you in even midway then its no from me.
