I can understand the concept they are trying to apply an I hope it works out.
Go for it. Can you elaborate what is the concept?

Let me ask you guys a question.aren't you excited about the past of your main character? His journey to become the badass Which he eventually becomes? Links to Nero( long shot but you never know).
I expect the game to be on the same hack and slash decent enough story lines but I am very much excited in the content of the story.
Sure, I'm all for knowing a character's history, but not at the cost of remoulding the whole game into something hideous. You see, Devil May Cry was not just about Dante's story as a Demon Hunter, but it was also about introducing to the audience, a whole new world of unique hack-en-slash gameplay elements. If you have played all it's titles, then you might have noticed the changes it has gone through over time. Each game had advanced technically, barring the abortion, which was DMC 2. DMC 3 was the only title, in my opinion, which had a great emphasis on character development and a concrete storyline. But this game also had so much more to offer in terms of it's gameplay and visuals (for it's time). DMC 4 took a hit on the storyline, but improved visually and added a new character. The game was all about style. Now if you look at Ninja Theory's version, it looks like a game made in the past. UE3 style visuals, 30 frames lock, poor animations, weapon changes, camera cuts, slow-mo, dull looking enemies etc. DMC 4 had set a benchmark for visuals and this is a major step in the opposite direction. Not to mention, they have introduced this new concept of 'Demon mode' and "Angel mode", by apparently stating that Dante is supposedly Half Demon - Half Angel, which essentially translates into Eva being an Angel. But we all thought Dante was half human and half demon all along, because that's what Capcom had made us believe.
I'm don't have anything against Ninja Theory. They are great at story telling, as I have played Heavenly Sword (which I'm currently playing) and Enslaved. My concern is re-constructing the gameplay and not drowning it into a toilet. As much as I would love to see a good storyline, I wouldn't want it's gameplay to take the fall, because that's what you'll be playing around with.
