Dragon Age 3: Inquisition - Discussion Thread

I've heard from someone at work that the origin mexico exploit works here and he's able to play the game.

So since most of us are already doing that anyway, this shouldn't change a thing :p

i also wanted to buy this game, the physical copy thou since its not possible can somebody explain how to obtain a digital copy thru mexico proxy ??
i have searched and found a way which involves accessing origin via http://proxymexico.com/ . Does this work ?

Can somebody link me to a working method of doing this.

Use Hola unblocker extension for Chrome. Open origin.com and then change the country to Mexico from Hola button in Chrome. Add game to cart, switch off Hola. The game should still be in cart. Pay by CC/Paypal.

But hold on till 21st. There is a lack of information on whether copies bought through VPN will support online features or we will have to use VPN for everything even while playing.

thanks........
if i am only interested in SP then this would be fine ryt .

It should be. People have bought it through VPN and probably have started playing through VPN too. If they say it's playable I will probably pick up a copy myself.[DOUBLEPOST=1416240175][/DOUBLEPOST]Was going through the Bioware forum thread, and many had bought through VPN and some have even finished preloading through a Korean VPN. So I said **** it, and fired up Hola.

Now to wait for an hour and start pre loading.

The role-playing game Dragon Age: Inquisition – produced by Bioware - will not be released in India.

Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has reportedly cancelled all pre-orders for the game from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The cancellation of the release happened because the game contains a key male character who has a homosexual orientation. Apparently, players can choose to have a romantic and sexual relationship with him only if they play as another male character.

A statement said: "In order to avoid a breach of local content laws, EA has withdrawn Dragon Age: Inquisition from sale in India and the game is no longer available for pre-order.

"All affected purchases for Dragon Age: Inquisition will be refunded. This applies regardless of payment method or date of purchase.

"Customers who pre-ordered the game will be contacted directly and will be fully refunded."

^^I think this is a very lame reason. We can understand the fallout case because it had something to do with the religious sentiments but this is something which I don't understand. I think there is something else. They might have predicted the sales won't do good in india thus they pulled out.

Not until the 21st, when the game releases worldwide. You just need the VPN to start Origin though. Once you are in Origin and DA:I play option is available you can switch it off.

Played a whole lot of DA today. The game is good, although it's rough around the edges. The new NVidia driver and the day one patch should resolve a lot of issues.

Cons

- PC controls are a bit wonky and takes some time to get used to.
- Some people complaining about stability issues and stuttering, didn't notice anything myself though. Cutscenes were locked at 30 fps but a shortcut command took care of that. I had problems in the main menu though, game hung a couple of times while in main menu.
- Combat is action oriented like DA2. AI follower options have been simplified. No movement on mouse click like in DA:O. Tactical option could have been better.

Pros

- Solid background score and music
- Huge scope. See it to believe it. Biggest maps from Bioware to date. Lavishly detailed landscapes with huge draw distances.
- Good story and characters so far
- Great spell and ambient effects
- Lot of random quests
- Combat is challenging. Not managing the party will quickly get you wiped.
- It's a very long game. I played for 6 hours and haven't uncovered even 50% of the first map. Looks like I will be playing it till next year.

I assume you mean FO:3.

And yet FO:3 including all DLC is freely available for purchase even today via Indian game distribution sites? Was the self imposed (or other) ban lifted on Fallout? Did the Devs release a "special Indian version" without the "2 headed Brahman cow" (I read this was the issue apparently) reference?

Besides, I had absolutely no problems whatsoever while buying and installing FO:3 Steam version even at launch. Yes, it wasn't available for sale "directly" to Indian buyers at the time but gifting it was perfectly allowed and the Steam version did not require a VPN for download either.

Would love to know...[DOUBLEPOST=1416379802][/DOUBLEPOST]
@jc36lect3r are you still using proxy to play or are you able to fire it up normally ?

The download size is about 24 GB. Origin download speeds are great, took about 5 hours. Yes, proxy is needed till 21st. The VPN I use is free and very easy to use, can post the guide if anyone wants. Or wait for 2 days and let the first update patch hit along with the world wide release.

^Thanks for that info. Whats your b/w speed and do you get full b/w using the VPN you mentioned? Or is it capped at some speed and if so how much?

Hmm. I dug around a bit and found that this is in fact a Japanese developed app. Interesting snippet from the EULA :p -

I have a 8 Mbps connection. I haven't measured my bandwidth using VPN now that you mention it. I use it only while launching Origin so it was never necessary. When I bought DA:I the preload option was already available so I was able to download without any VPN connection.
