Did quite a few purchases past two weeks. Noticed a trend on most seller/item pages. They strictly mention not to give "negative/neutral" ratings.
Example:
Subsequently I read some negative feedback for sellers. Most of the replies from the shops were -- "why did you give negative, not true, you should contact us first". Does not this defeat the whole mechanism of constructive feedback..?
Example:
For some of the purchases I got a separate -- welcome package type letter stating the same and requesting/begging/ordering not to give anything below 5*, electronic form and/or attached to the hard copy bill invoice. Why is this so prevalent. Of course the feedback rating is the prime indicator of a sellers credibility -- but requesting highest grade feedback and best-of-the-best vendor promotion is a bit below the belt. Is it because buyers were not giving correct ratings, or actually the truth is surfacing and sellers are scared, or just a hush hush job. Please contact us before leaving any NEGATIVE/NEUTRAL comments on Ebay site .
