IIRC upon mutual cancellation there are no charges

I guess there is no charge on mutual cancellation.

I once sold a locked iphone 4 32gb on ebay and the guy later called me up to cancel the deal after making the payment stating he doesn't want a locked handset. No charges were levied.

There might be a little listing fees and thats it. Not 4% for sure.
