It tackles serious issues, many of them were current at the time of airing. But it's on a lighter note. Alan Shore and Denny Crane are amongst the best written characters of all times. Fantastic actors that they are, they acted as the role demanded. The monologue(s) of Alan Shore demand a separate category in itself. Simply brilliant!

In all fairness, Season 5 was a bit of a drag, but before that was pure joy. I used to rewind and watch Alan Shore's monologues 4-5 times! :D

In that case, have you seen Twin Peaks? If not I would highly recommend it. In case you dont know about Twin Peaks, it was created by David Lynch. I dont think I need to say more than that.
 
^^I usually read some synopsis before watching any english movie or TV series. You see it is just 2-3 years back when i started watching english movies :ashamed: And in 2009 end i started with TV series. So in order to first understand the premise i need to know what it is all about.

Initially had many hiccups while watching english stuff like unability to grasp the accent, always i used to watch with subtitles. Initial few episodes of LOST were watched with subtitles only but later on when i got grip of accent, all izzz well. :D
 
Twin Peaks on IMDB
Twin Peaks is a Mystery/Thriller series. If you manage to get through the first 2-3 episodes which may seem confusing and slow, you are in for a treat. Its hard to compare Twin peaks to any other series and I really dont want to say too much and ruin the fun for you or anyone else if they decide to watch it. If you really need synopses before watching series, my suggestion would be check one of the reviews to season 1 on google, but dont read too much spoilers will really ruin the fun. I finished twin peaks S1-S2 for the first time about 2 years back in 4 days(all ~30 episodes, I think i got 10-14 episodes finished on the sunday itself, and the rest on weekdays after work)

Finished with Firefly mini series.It is good enough.

Started with House MD. First two episodes done.

Guys suggest some other shows which women may love. My wife is hooked to LOST and need to find something else for her after this. The advantage to me is that i too get time to watch the series which i want :P

She is currently reading New Moon and seen first two twilight movies.

Will ask if she would like to go for Vampire diaries.

in other Genre there is Chuck, Burn Notice, White Collar, Castle(Mystery Murder), Glee, Heroes, How i Met Your Mother, Lie TO me, Prison Break, The Big Bang Theory(Comedy), Two and a half Men
 
I have started watching House MD and completed first 5 episodes of season 1 and have a query about the progress of the series.
It is in spoilers below...

In this series, is it just that each episode will deal with some medical case and there is absolutely no connection between consecutive episodes ???
