English TV series discussion

The forthcoming Hobbit movies (ie part two and three) have already been shot.

Not quite. Although the series was originally planned for two movies, the third installment (There and Back Again, which was originally the second title; now The Desolation of Smaug) came up last July and requires additional filming which is yet to happen. Sources suggest it might happen during Summer 2013.

THR reports that they have sources close to The Hobbit telling them that Jackson is indeed pushing forward with his intention to turn The Hobbit into a trilogy – a plan that would require the cast and crew to reconvene for additional shooting (which, it is speculated, would take place next summer).

Peter Jackson on Colbert Report was asked that he has finished shooting for the three films and why is he not releasing them.
Then Peter replied that the second film's editing has been done but he didn't not deny that the third film is still to be shot.

That's Benedict Cumberbatch folks, looking totally bad-ass.

^ Hey, isn't this the English TV Series Discussion thread? Stop going OT! :P

Anyways, I've got hold of Three's Company - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075596/

I remember watching reruns of this when I was quite small, late 90s I guess. Saw the first episode and still made me laugh quite a bit. John Ritter's (RIP) comic timing is gold and Suzanne Somers as the naive, dumb blonde is too adorable. Normal Fell (and later Don Knotts) play the role of the strict landlord quite well.

Some people mentioned that there is nothing new right now to watch, so I would really recommend downloading a few episodes and watch it. It is a simple, sweet sitcom without any frills attached. :)

Completed the remaining 6 episodes of The Walking Dead Season 2 yesterday. Season 2 was boring to say the least - so much of unwanted drama all around. The finale was decent. Good acting overall especially Dale. The character progression of Andrea was also well done.

I just felt really sad for Dale. :( Will some one (Daryl?) please feed that kid to those walkers pretty please? This kid has been annoying right from the beginning! And goes around poking trouble.

And who the hell saved Andrea? She was wielding a katana and had two walkers without hands leashed to her! Looked totally badass! :scared14:

Will continue with S3 today. :P

That would be Michonne. You'll see more of her in Season 3. Be prepared to experience the hardcore-ness right from the first episode

Fcuk yeah! Bring it on I say. :ohyeah:

Just when I thought that the walker had Andrea devoured, SLASH! Out of nowhere! I was like OMG holy shit WTH was that! :scared14:

I rewinded that sequence to get a clear shot once again.

Another kickass sequence was inside the bar with Rick, Hershel, Glenn and the other two who enter the bar seeking refuge at Hershel's farm. Rick draws the Magnum and BAM BAM BAM! Insanely fast! Totally epic.

After watching season 3, you'd want to take your words back. Especially about 'the kid', Carl. :P
Also, Michonne is one of the most kickass characters ever.

Started TWD Season 3, completed 4 episodes and OMG this season takes the series in a different direction altogether! :scared14:

Looks like Carl has indeed grown up and has matured over time. He wields a gun flawlessly. And almost all the characters were doing head-shots quite effortlessly! :P

Michonne is kick ass! Looks like she already has her suspicions on the Governor and the way he has his small town protected. And looks like Lori is gone for good! She was just a burden and now that her baby is here, I wonder what would keep him/her alive! I mean no mother (which means no breast milk), no baby food, nothing! When the survivors itself are dependent on old tinned food scavenged from other places, I do not know how they intend to keep the baby alive.

Even T-Dog is gone. :( I am going to miss him badly. He was an essential asset and a muscle to the team. I hope they find more of his kind later.

Will watch the last 4 episodes and conclude the first part of this season today. :P

ohk breaking bad finished till season 5 first 8 episodes(the other 8 will air next year): currently the number 1 show on my top ten list.HERE SEE THESE 2 AWSOME BrBa VIDEOS,PLEASE!!!-
EPIC REMIX OF FOOTAGE TAKEN FROM VARIOUS EPISODES(DAMN I MISS TUCO NOW)
TRAILER FAN MADE HEISENBERG(WARNING:EPIC SHIT AHEAD) :
WARNING:I ADVICE PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T YET SEEN BREAKING BAD TO NOT WATCH THE VIDEOS,THEY MAY NOT MAKE ANY SENSE IN RELATION TO THE ACTUAL SHOW(AND MAY BE HILARIOUSLY FUNNY) BUT THEY MAY STILL CONTAIN SPOILERS.
i have also finished watching all 4 seasons of community and that show in my opinion,is the best comedy show out there right now.
these are the shows i am going to finish over the summer(it may seem impossible, but i have got lots of cola, lots of free time, and AN IRON WILL):
the wire
lost
24
prison break
sons of anarchy
burn notice
the sopranos
justified
boardwalk empire
the shield
six feet under
misfits
homeland

also i watched the first episode of the wire, and i gotta say that, compared to all the hoopla about it online,it was pretty underwhelming but i suspect that's because it was just the first episode, right?

Hell no .. !!

The Wire is not some fast paced crime drama with plot twists .. the plot is not episodic but rather multiple stories arc over an entire season(s).

.. The cold opening of the first Episode with McNulty questions "Snot Boogy's" friend on the sidewalk .. that scene perfectly describes what the show is all about.

The shows strives for authenticity in every aspect it depicts .. whether its Police work, Drug gangs or the bureaucracy of both world and Politicians .. expect lots of social commentary about the state of Baltimore in 2002.

You wont see actions sequences and car chases n gun fire .. the depiction of violence throughout the series is not sensationalized but rather brutalized ..
The creators didn't dumb down the show in any way to make it easier to pick up.

Don't watch it without subtitles .. you will be missing out a lot.

@Gannu: You gotta read the TWD comics if you remotely liked the TV series. Much more mature and hardcore. I almost gave up on the TV series midway during S2. The graphic novels, OTOH, devoured within 2 days.

Just completed the remaining 4 episodes of the mid season and fcuk this was one hell of a season! :scared14: Saw the preview of the next episode as well and felt glad, I mean really really glad!

That Daryl survived! :D

I really wished Michonne slashed the Governor and ended the misery but that b1tch Andrea came out of nowhere and rescued him! :| And it definitely looks like the team has become a lot more world weary now and can face almost any threat including anything that this pansy Governor can put up! Hell yeah I want them to show him what survival instincts mean!

And where did the other group suddenly turn up from? Looks like there are a lot of nomadic groups to be lost and found! :P

Fantastic finale! Can't wait until February 10.

Dude seriously! I read about some of the characters and looks like they are a lot more badass on the comics than on the show. But unfortunately reading books (or even comics for that matter) isn't my forte. Somehow I never cultivated the reading habit in me and I've to let it slide. :(

Watching "The Wire" is like reading a good book. It took me 2-3 episodes to start liking it because it is so different from the rest of the bunch out there. The fourth season, IMHO, is the best season of any series I've watched thus far. I am yet to start watching Breaking Bad, so am eager to see how it measures up.

^^ BB is good but it in no way measures up to The Wire but then again they are very different shows though both have plots that are mainly about drugs.

Any Supernatural fan here, after watching all 7 seasons, season 8 is even better, too bad they postponed the shooting for Christmas

Watched Heroes Season 1 recently, complex story, wonderfully done. Too bad they have gone downhill later seasons
