English TV series discussion

Finished watching the first season of 'The Walking Dead' and the struggle for survival is getting quite interesting now. Will start season 2 tonight.

Gotcha dex! Hope the pace picks up in the next few episodes.

Umm.. the show has a pretty uniform pace(like a novel) .. the more attention you pay the more you will appreciate it.
Don't expect any action sequences and shootouts or car chases .. practically there aren't any in the entire show.

Title of the show "The Wire" refers to the police surveillance (phone tapping etc) , Season 1 is mostly built on that.
You will get the story from both sides of the law ..

Season 2 introduces a lot of great( ;) ) Characters ..
heads up .. Rick is bauss as usual and takes the commanding lead.. and Carl can't frigging stay outta trouble !!! damn kid !!

I'll take up Justified during April. It is definitely in my radar since it has Goggins (and Olyphant may be). Besides, you guys have recommended it enough! :D

Saw the first two episodes of House of Cards(Netflix). Good show, seems to be evenly paced. Some of the dialogue seems forced though.

Okay.. so Community is back .. S0E01 was "okay" .. though its too early to tell.

Characters are just how we left them in S03 .. though the larger story hasn't moved forward.
the episode felt rushed .. usually the writers managed to utilized the 22 mins of screen time pretty adequately.

Its hard to grasp what's changed since we're watching it after "such a long time" .. impressions will vary quite a bit.

We are introduced to some new developments which presumably happened over the Season gap .. will hold off on any spoiler for now.

Need to watch the episode a couple of more time to really get my head around it :D

PoI's new episode was good. Kinda weird to watch 'regular' episode after the arc episodes.
The episode answers one or two question, hints at others and raises some more new questions.
Also,

The Walking Dead mid-season premiere was pretty good. I think we need a more tough guy as the Governor. Tyrese looks like one tough SOB and might be a worthy addition to the group. Let's see how this goes.

Done with American Horror Story's second season and personally, I loved it. Great characters, twisted storylines, very good use of make-up rather than CGI, creepy atmosphere and location; this season had it all. The only thing I really wish they would had done away with was the
The Alien aspect
of the story arc. It was completely unnecessary and seemed out of place with the on-going events. Jessica Lange delivers an emotionally gripping performance in the final episode, easily the best of the lot. Other noteworthy performances would be James Cromwell as Dr. Arden, Lily Rabe as Mary Eunice and Sarah Paulson as Lana Winters. Definitely recommended for people looking to suspend their disbelief and join in the madness are certainly in for a ride.

Also managed to catch up with Californication's 4th episode and Sparacus's 3rd ep. Californication has gone for bad to worse. Spartacus's last episode was average. I'm really starting to hate Naevia's character in this season. She's turned into this man hating psycho b**ch. The best part about Cali and Spartacus's episodes were the 2 ladies; Gwendoline Taylor (Spartacus) and Alissa Dean (Cali). OMG! HAWTNESS personified!

Big Bang Theory's last 2 episodes were epic, especially the one with Kripke. The show finally seemed to redeem some of it's lost charm. :)

SPOILER WARING !! .. I have;nt fully read your post .. i am typing this without looking at the screen

dont want SPOILLERS

Watched the series finale of ROME yesterday. OMG what a finale and what a show! :hail:

Spectacular conclusion and all the characters did their respective parts well. I was told that the channel was to stop the show because the props were expensive (thanks to Alekh for that piece of info.) and it was cut short to 22 episodes but the script writers ended it pretty well. Goes to show that a good series can be wound up in as many episodes and not drag it into a borefest!

Ray Stevenson - total respect! :hail:

This gentleman was seriously underplayed in Dexter's last season. He could have portrayed a total badarse character.

Shall begin American Horror Story, Season 2 now. I was told the finale was pretty good this time.

Eve since you have been raving about Rome, I wanted to watch it too. Torrents weren't giving good download speed, so bought a 1 month subscription of Netload. I am waiting for it to be downloaded completely before I start watching.

Second half of the second season of Suits is pretty fast paced. Only 2 episodes remain in the season. Loving every episode of this show.

You are right, the best torrents for the two seasons combined were over 150 GB, and I have patiently nursed them for the past three weeks to reach 90%. Hope to enjoy the fruits of my labor on a 50 inch TV screen soon. :)

Damn, the ones I had chosen were just 60GB, but the speeds were pathetic. Would have taken me around 6 months had I continued with them. Found the same files on Netload, so went that way instead.

Watchiung Castle , Fringe and Big Bang Theory

Castle : 6.5/10 (I love detective Kate :cupidon: ). The stories are decently done and now there is finally roamnce between the two leads.

Fringe: 8.5/10 (Outstanding sci-fi. Have been watching it for the last 5 seasons and now that it is finally over, almost like loosing a friend. I will miss all the characters and kinda feeling sad seeing them go)

Big Bang Theory : 8.5/10 (Outstanding comedy. However season 6 I felt has not been so good and the fun seems a bit monotonous and dry now. Barring the Stephen Hawkin's episode I did not like the rest so much)
