English TV series discussion

Just when i thought skinny pete and the Badger disappeared.
Their appearance was much needed in this episode and Entire Car Setup was Great.
Lining up those previous episode clippings were in a proper way without wasting much time showing extra scene

And the Theme music in the ending is as usual Great. Just Realized Imdb Rating went up a Point to 9.5 it Definitely Deserves this or more. I am gonna rate 10/10.

was an amazing finale to breaking bad.
yep, one of the most satisfying ends to any show i've ever seen .. (except maybe The Wire :p )

Vince Gilligan wasn't kidding when he said there would be no loose ends .. Morally, emotionally & dramatically .. satisfying.

Though some critic will try to pick at BrBa for 'playing it safe' -- I think this it encompasses how each story arc has progressed. Gradual buildup and then a sudden climax. Also I have been listing to Baby Blue - Madfinger on repeat since morning .. BrBa uses the lyrics of the songs to convey relevance instead of the music .. and the selection in S05 has been fantastic ..
Tommy James - Crystal Blue Persuasion
The Limeliters - Take My True Love By the Hand
Junip - Line of Fire,
Marty Robbins - El Paso
Madfinger - Baby Blue

I have two epis, last one and Felina. But I am not seeing them. I am gonna watch them on Oct 2nd. Will start Season 5 again!

btw, Mentalist started off great. Can't wait to see next epi.

Looks like I am the only one who feels let down by the second half of this season of Breaking Bad. I sincerely feel there could have been another season in it easily. It felt the same way as the last episodes of Prison Break.
Obviously it wasn't a hotch-potch job like what the makers of Prison Break did, but it still was ended rather quickly. They could have easily made another season without dragging the story.

Just finished Breaking Bad's all 8 episodes in a full run. Started it at 12:00AM and just finished the final episode. Un-f*ckin-believeable!

I had my apprehensions about the show getting a 5th season after having such an explosive finale in season 4; I didn't think it was really needed. I guess this is what I had to see. They concluded everything perfectly and gave it a proper send-off. The sheer amount of emotions that rode so high in the last 3 episodes was truly amazing. This show has rightfully earned it's top spot in my 'Best TV show' slot. I'm going to get some sleep now and when I wake up, I'll probably watch the finale once again.

There are 2 questions I'd like to ask before I head off though:

1.) Were the f*ck words muted out in the version you saw?

2.) Could someone explain to me how exactly did Jesse find out about Brock's poisoning by looking at the cigarette pack? It's been a long time since I saw season 4, so I can't really recollect the cigarette packet deal.

1. Didn't notice. I think I heard it once.

2. Gus has threatened Walt and his family --> It is known by Jesse too, who also starts fearing for his life and goes to Saul's office to take all his money and run; however, Gus is in good terms with Jesse
Brock gets poisoned --> Ricin cigarette missing (Huell pick-pocketed it actually) --> Jesse feels responsible for the posoning
Jesse suspects that Walt did it --> Goes to confront him, and even tries to kill him
Walt manipulates Jesse to think that it was actually Gus who did it --> Jesse switches over to Walt's side and helps him in killing Gus

So, the entire poisoning scenario was just to manipulate Jesse, and to switch his loyalty from Gus to Walt back again.

Later, doctors confirm it wasn't ricin --> Jesse is relieved, but still feels terrible that the cigarette is out there somewhere and some innocent person could get killed

Walt manipulates him again by putting it in his Roomba while searching for the cigarette; that cigarette actually had salt in its vial.

However, later on when Jesse realizes that Huell pick-pocketed the pot from his jacket, he connects both the scenarios and comes to the conclusion that he also did the same with the ricin cigarette. Obviously, he is very angry and rushes to Saul to confront him.

Although blkrbot above has explained that perfectly, to me it seemed liked one of those famous Gregory House Epiphanies!

Better to burn out than fade away ..
the only part that could have been extended was following Ozmandias when Walt was on the run .. however the focus of the show was on Walt's own suffering & fears rather than his escape .. which was wonderfully done in Granite State.

Felina was about admitting his faults & cleaning up his own mess.

Yeah they obviously handled everything beautifully and I think I belong to a minority when I say I was a wee bit disappointed. I am only saying so because these last 8 episodes carried the story at such a pace that was clearly not characteristic of how it had been so far.

Just an FYI to people who have seen The IT Crowd (UK) before. They telecast a special episode on 27th September. I think it is available on YouTube as well.
I watched it yesterday. Was decent.

Was it a stand alone episode or a sort of continuation. I'm watching S02 .. So can I watch the latest released episode ?

I do not remember what the last episode was so i don't know if it was a continuation or not. But i believe it is not continuation but standalone. I guess most episodes of IT Crowd we sort of independent only right ?
I suggest you complete all 4 seasons and then watch this new one.

Completed season 4 of Supernatural last night. Yet another amazing season and loved most of the episodes. Also managed to complete around 6 episodes of season 5 last night and this season keeps getting more interesting with each episode.

Saw the pilot episode of Sons of Anarchy (as a trial) and found it to be quite good. Let's see if I can manage to complete the first season.
